lol... not exactly.

I think I managed to get a really good base car to work from.

The only problem with clapped out cars is that you end up spending the whole conversion budget on fixing the rusting hulk and rotting chassis.

Funny,
I looked at that car online last night and thought it would be a nice little project. But then I am not in a position to just drive up the road and buy it. Good luck with it, should be fun.

Check the regs carefully and have a word with either Tim Hill or Simon Baines before you committ to any I have listed above. There is going to be some clarification of what is and is not std for next season. coffee

Inkyfingers could help if he looks in (but dont ask him anything about rear axles) slap

On the windscreen front most people just unbolt the std one and fit an Aeroscreen on the day (about 10mins to do). Simmonds does some excellent quick release Aeroscreen mounts. Aeroscreen Mount

2008 season dates are now uploaded to www.speedmog.co.uk flag

As someone who started last year in sprinting (in a modified class) I can heartily recommend it.
I would stay with class 1 (unmodified)
I would buy:
a good new helmet
a second hand fireproof suit( if you like sprinting buy a new one)
proper boots (you can use them to drive even if you give up sprinting)
A proper roll bar(safety devices)
A good seat. Sparco Rev good if you are slimmmish!

then do 4 or 5 events and see if you need anything else and if you like sprinting.
This will save you money in the long term.

Cerealsurfer - my 4/4 has got a stainless steel side exit straight through exhaust, and I am going to change it for something else because it's too noisy for me for road use. I will be looking to sell it to recoup some cost of a new silencer (probably rear exit, but may be another side exit if I can get a quieter silencer box). When I've got myself a new one I'll let you know to see if you are interested. It was new/unused when I got the car.

Very comprehensive set of mods - sounds like you're very serious about this. Would really enjoy seeing it all come together.

Just measured my stock OEM wheels and the rims are 6.5in wide so can fit either 185 55 R15 (+0.9% on stock)or even 195 55 R15 (+2.8% on stock).

Probably fit the 185 T1R's.. no need for the Mag Minilite's.. especially as they were getting on for 2.8k a set!!
