Sorry. Clicked reply on the first page and it added my comment to the end. The brown suede custom one in the liquid mercury aero on page 1 please! New user error!
Thanks. Dan
Hi Dan Morgan will not supply this leather anymore, too many issues with it, I did ask for it 6 years ago and again last year. It is available elsewhere (Melvyn Rutter for example) but it would be a custom fit. That is strange that Peter has been told there was issues with that leather; in my experience, it wore very well and actually only looked better with age. Perhaps it is less capable of handling wet weather and stains when it gets wet and is therefore less suitable to an open top vehicle? There is a long story behind that leather but the short version is that Matt Humphries, who designed the Aeromax, was always on the hunt for interesting leather samples and this was one that he was sent. If I recall correctly, it was actually a furniture leather rather than an automotive one but it was used on Aeromax #94 - so if you ask the factory, I am sure they will be able to confirm the exact supplier and name. Hope that helps. Yes it is a furniture leather, I asked for it in my Plus 8 and again in the Plus Six that wasn't to be and this year for in my 3W. Same explanation from the powers that be at MMC, too many warranty issues. I'd thought like you that it would only enhance the look as it wears. I have found it in a Blue as well.

Thanks. Very helpful. Looks like Yarwood do some “faux” with vintage distressed look/patina. Hard to know if it looks great or like cheap vinyl from the photos though and they annoyingly don’t send samples to individuals.
Whilst I have the great minds of Morgan; 3 wheeler exhausts - does the black pipe/header age better or worse than stainless? Thanks

IIRC the leather you asked about was: https://www.yarwoodleather.com/products/leather/tribe/tribe-africa/

In case it is useful - my dealer (Morgan West in LA) had a book of leather swatches with all the available options (obviously not including the distressed stuff), I would hope your local dealer does too. It certainly helped me, I ended up ordering in the custom Biscuit colour. Looks good with the black paint...

I had this leather www.yarwoodleather.com/products/leather/tribe/tribe-sequoia/ in my ‘Rocket Red’ Aero SuperSport and never had any issues with it. It’s thicker than the Automobile leathers, and the Trim Shop complained it was more difficult to work with, but it did not show rain spots!
