Geoff, my 3-wheeler had goose pimples all over it and I was sure that a bare surface respray was pending. Because I had nothing to loose I polished it with an abrasive (T-Cut in UK?).
Bodger from how you decribe GOOSE PIMPLES this seems to be a different fault to what Geoff is experiencing, it sounds like you have had a case of over applied Paint and you were able to flat back the high spots (Orange Peel) until you eventually had a flat paint surface.
Please do not use T Cut Gentlemen, its old and DIY, Try 3M Finesse-it or Farecla G3....for Cellulose use Farecla G7. They will work 4 x quicker than T Cut, cutting down time and eliminating Tennis Elbow
Wow, thats a lot to take in. Thanks. Have had a good look at the car this morning and the main area affected is the bonnet. There are a couple of blisters elsewhere, but I think they will disappear with a little polishing. I have some G6 and G10 in the garage. Have taken some photos of the bonnet, but if worst comes to worst, I can take the bonnet off and get it resprayed reasonably at a local body-shop. Sorry cant see how to attach images. Many thanks, Regards, Geoff
Just a thought that the bonnet was not sprayed with the body hence more on the bonnet than the body and time change being the main factor for a atmospheric differance .
As Graham said a few months ago we sort all sorts of things out I did not have a clue about Jnr's Clio raining in , one lad knew the cause.
No the whole car apart from the rear body panel was sprayed at the same time. Only thing I can think of is that the car is garaged over winter and covered with a tarp over the top only. Could be the bonnet holds condensation, whereas the rest is open to dry out, and has absorbed moisture. Regards, Geoff

That's exactly what happened when I left my AH 3000 outside for 2 months under a watertight tarp - only the aluminium panels were affected.
BTW the pimples on my 3-wheeler were much smaller than those on your bonnet. I probably wouldn't try polishing yours away. And no, Dean, it wasn't orange peel but you are right that there was enough paint to polish part of it down (and no clear lacquer on it like on moderns
If you hade shown me those pictures previous to all the postings, my reaction would be as follows:-
Bonnet has resently been sprayed and the Airline was carrying water not drained from the Compressor (Inline Water Trap missing)hence moisture coming through the Airline and mixing with the paint at the Gun.
Kind of throws me as the bonnet is in two parts and are popped in a spray booth with the wings ( depending on size ) but without the mog body, placed on somthing or hung and sprayed away from the mog ?!!!!!!.
