I am not a fan of the Easy Up Hood . Yes, it is more practical and probably gives better protection against the elements. But I have always loved the look of the Old Style Hood in mohair and I think it looks better up (giving the car a more traditional rakish profile) and better down as the lines of the car are kept clean with no hood bunched up on the rear frame. The car also looks better when driving half tonneau with the Old Style Hood. I may regret my decision when I have no fingernails left

My view exactly. I didn't buy my Mog to drive with the roof up, so the look is more important to me than the convenience or weather tightness.

It’s interesting Giles, but I think a few buyers are escaping the clutches of Morgan's Easy Up Hood tyranny, and paying the extra for the old style hood. I was told that at least two Roadsters had gone through the factory over the last few weeks with Old Style Hoods. For a while I was worried that I seemed to be the only person in the world selecting an Old Style Hood and therefore I must be doing something crazy and suicidal But when was a Morgan ever practical

The factory only made one small error with my car. I requested the old style Morgan script badge set at an angle on the rear deck - just like on the last of the Plus 8’s. Morgan got it wrong and stuck the Roadster badge at an angle on the rear deck and it looks odd. At first they denied that we had ordered this and said it could not be changed because the pin size on the two badges is different. My dealer spoke with them and now Morgan admit that we did request this change by email but somehow the request for a badge at a jaunty angle got through onto the build book but not the request for the Morgan script badge. Something has gone wrong somewhere but my dealer says not to worry, Morgan are working on a solution and it will be resolved

I strongly recommend that you buy the "lifter" swivels from John Taylor then. I found them brilliant with the hood on my previous car. Definitely makes putting up the hood a diddle and saves both fingernails and language outbursts!!!!
Enjoy the new car - looks fantastic!
Cheers!
