I am in the "don't get it camp", my Roadster was fine without power steering, can't say I noticed the difference between it and my 4/4. Also these cars are kept for many years and it is just more bits to go wrong. I say spend the extra money on gym membership It could help owners with arthritic hands keep their Mog longer. (I'm OK at the moment but may need it within the next 5 years, but would have it adjusted so that there was no assist above 15mph)

There seems to be a significant difference between the newer models with bearings on one hand and the older ones with washers on the other hand. Mine is of 2009 and has the newer "construction" and the steering is so light that I never missed an assist motor.
I have never driven an older model, but heard that the are quite hard to steer, especially when parking.
Therefore, for a new one I subscribe the "no power steering" list, for an older model I would try to get the bearings as retro-fit.

Having to move modern tyres at parking speeds - say below 5mph - is always going to be hard work. At these speeds whether you have roller bearings or damper blades makes no appreciable difference (IMHO of course)

ezpower steering in the Netherlands seem to have developed a particularly good system..There are quite a few road tests of various classic cars that have had the system fitted. They also have a UK dealer in the south . So will investigate. The improvement to the comfort level is very marked ,as one who suffers from a problem shoulder after a long drive in the MOG this could make all the difference.

The Roadster is now going to come with power steering as standard - so you will have to say if you don’t want it. I would never get it though - detracts from the raw nature of a Morgan.

Enrol in a Gym or employ a Physio - it will be a lot cheaper.

Or buy a new Roadster. You know you want one Seriously though; have you thought to have the steering geometry checked. I don't find mine heavy enough to even consider power steering. I run a slightly higher tyre pressure than the Morgan recommendation. 26 psi or 1.8 bar.

Yes Peter, a little bit of higher tire pressure makes a lot of difference. I never would demand any power steering on a Plus 4. even with the closer steering gear ratio of the Plus4 SS i have no wishes for a power steering (the slightly bigger steering wheel compensates in addition - you know, what the ladies like). With my Roadsters I had no wants for a power steering as well. Power steering on a trad would be the beginning of the end. And the 3.7 engine isn´t significantly heavier, or?

The Roadster V6 with 16" wire wheels is a bit of a lump at low speeds (parking and hauling around roundabouts) but I don't find this detracts from its character. Indeed, it is it's character.
