Top man, top attitude.

Well said Simon. thumbs

Its also worth adding that Andy's back at work and is certainly not going to let it get him down. Well done that man.

Having just received the bowel screening result this morning and it coming back as abnormal, I was in a state of shock and panic. Having read this post and all the comments, it has made me feel a whole lot better. So its off to the hospital in Exeter on Tuesday for the briefing and I expect the examination will be pretty quick after that. Whatever the outcome you have made me feel more at ease and less nervous. Thanks TM.

Good luck Neil and I hope you don't need it. If you want to know anything about my experience feel free to post a question if you don't mind an open forum (I don't) or PM me anytime.

The whole thing about cancer these days is that caught early enough it can be be treated and even cured. I won't begin to hypothesise on your case as all options are open (as are they to everyone always!) but there are many many reasons for abnormal results and early diagnosis of any is the key.

I am indeed back at work since Wednesday last week, completely off all pain relief since Thursday and am awaiting my histology results expected late next week. Feeling good and strong, with the odd twitch and twinge, but ready for the next hurdle whatever it may be smile

Life will always put occasional hurdles in the way, so we just need to jump occasionally; if you see it early enough you just adjust your stride, increase your pace and ........ there you go, you're over it grin2

All the best and keep us informed. thumbs

Cheers

Great news Boshers about you getting back to work! An inspiration to us all I think.
Fingers crossed on your histology results. And good luck again Neil. I had my screening results back a couple of weeks ago and left the envelope unopened for a couple of days until I gave myself a good talking to!

I think it"s great that the issue of cancer can be openly discussed on a forum about Morgans.....rare I suspect for forums. In my experience a lot if not most people prefer to skirt around the issue. My wife was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer back in 1995. She was back to work as soon as she could after surgery and continued working through her chemo and radio therapy ... the hospital was just down the road from work so she could pop down there and many times would go back to work afterwards. How she did it I don't know as both treatments were pretty debilitating. The sad thing was though that people avoided talking to her about it and she soon learnt who her true friends were. Some of those other "friends" turned up to her funeral in 2006 and I remember one of them in particular saying to me how guilty she felt not sticking by my wife...but she admitted that she just couldn't cope with cancer and it scared her too much.
