As it is pouring down here in Devon, I have spent the morning treating the leather on my 4/4.
I use Autoglym Leather Care, which seems fine, but I have little to compare it with.

Any recommendations for keeping the leather soft, protected and smelling nice?

I probably use entirely the wrong thing! On my distressed tan, I'm using ordinary shoe polish. However, this is only on scratches and blemishes rather than a full restorative treatment.

Saddlers use 'Neatsfoot Oil' as a conditioner, softening and preservative treatment. Worth taking a look at - along with a good saddle soap.

I've used Autoglym and Lord Sheraton Leather Balsam....the latter smells lovely and the LLB would love it I'm sure smile Mike Duncan recommended Renapur..well I think he did, the huge pile of old Autocar magazines Ben gave me had a load of Renapur brochures on top!

My last g/f who was very keen on horses suggested I used some saddle/tack dressing. Ko-Cho-Line. Don't use it on your seats! Not unless you want to soften your backside as well and stain your clothes! It was great however on the bonnet strap, keeping it waterproof as well.

Probably why she was my last g/f !

Thanks, I've ordered some Lord Sheraton (through Amazon). It was less than a fiver delivered, so I thought I would give it a go.

I am assured that the Autoglym gives a good level of protection, but (IMHO) it does have a slightly odd smell!

Probably! Not something I ever used when I was involved with horses.

Saddle soap and Neatsfoot Oil - on saddles and other tack. Don't think I'd use it on car seats though - it will darken leather quite quickly, never mind the effect it can have on clothes.

You could be right - I was thinking of dark leather.... Lighter tones would need something else.

Jaguar do some very good creams for leather seats.
