I have raised two issues before but this seems an appropriate place to post again:
1. Whilst everyone's sense of humour is different there have been two occasions recently where I have seen blatant racism in the 'jokes' thread. I am not talking about the type that people moan about 'the world becoming PC', simply 'I hate Muslims/foreigners/people of a different race' masquerading as 'humour'.
I find it staggering that people think it's acceptable to post this on a public forum, especially one which consists of many international members or people with diverse family backgrounds. It also drags the forum down and unfortunately it has soured my viewing here and my perception of some Morgan owners. People have worked hard to move away from negative stereotypes and this is from the dark ages.
In advance, to those that know who they are, please don't bother remonstrating with me, I grew up in the most multi-cultural city in the UK and wouldn't change it for the world.
2. People have posted verbatim quotes of various news stories without linking to the original source. While this on the face of it is completely innocuous this is breach of copyright. I have been on a forum that had no choice but to pay compensation after being legally challenged over exactly this. The alternative would have been expensive and ultimately pointless legal action. If you're going to post something, please fully reference it, because the legal responsibility is with the site owner not the person who posts. Have to agree with you here Cicerone. A couple of the "humour" posts caused me some offence, I posted a comment about one of them but decided to delete it after a few minutes for various reasons. Both jokes that were deleted were done so mainly because offence was taken and we were asked to do so. In my opinion they were close to the mark but not over it. I'm sorry you took offence, but naturally that's your opinion. I have stated before that 'the line' is always going to be grey, and interpreted differently by different people and "you can't please all of the people all of the time" as you are well aware. So your sweeping statement above offends me. For the record, I do not care much for the current immigration policy and situation in this country; AND I AM AN 'ASIAN' IMMIGRANT. (Irrespective of who they are I am concerned for the lack of control; but this is another debate and not for TM I would suggest). However Does this mean my opinion is more valid than yours? Of course not, but it shows the diversity of opinions and differing points of view. Let's be straight here, you have never cared much for TM for historical reasons that most are aware of, but accusing the site of accepting racism goes beyond what I would have expected from you. I have no issue with the rest of your post. I re-iterate there are varying tolerances but TM does not in any way condone outright racism.

Some of the very finest jokes have a sexist, vegitablist, homophobic, xenophobic, or other slant. The difficulty is, perhaps, knowing the intent of the author.
I don't actually know any racists, but I do know people who sit waiting to be offended - like coiled springs, ready to pull the racist card. I employed a few over the years and it was exhausting being in their company.

I need to look into or have guidance on the copyright
issue as being lazy many of my posts are lifted from aol or wherever.
Im not concerned about copyright under my own fair usage law, but wouldn't want to compromise TM.
By reference, if you mention the source, does that make a difference?

It is obviously not even close to the truth and had you taken the time to know the people behind Talk Morgan, you would understand just how ludicrous your intimation is. I believe Andy (Boshly) has more than adequately covered all the relevant points, for which I am glad, because I am not sure I would have deemed such an inane comment worthy of a response.

A longer post disappeared in the ether, this is a difficult forum to use on a smartphone.
To summarise, I really really do not care if my post offended you. I do not care, what race you are or what your views on immigration are.
Lets discuss "censored off home censored". That is how my beautiful Malaysian Indian wife, western dressed, better educated and with better English then most Brits was greeted with.
Does that make me intolerant and hair triggered about racism? Yes it does (but it was only a joke)
As for the rest of your post, I have genuinely no idea what you are talking about. I have an inherent lifelong distate for bullys, perhaps that was an issue?
But I concede defeat. You cannot change peoples views on a forum so I will take the cowards way out and leave.

I'm genuinely sorry. Does that make any difference to this discussion? Not in my view. Is it relevant to my opinion and others? Maybe it gives us an understanding of what makes you tick but maybe you should have posted a more constructive post stating that is why you may be a bit sensitive. I'm sure many would have sympathised. Instead you come out with a sweeping crass untrue statement. By the way, do you know how racist 'Asians' can be? Yes, I know that's a sweeping crass statement also. 5) You infer I'm a bully? Nice again. 6) The rest of my post? I inferred you have always been anti the way TM (or more particularly Myself) support the factory and disagree with the views of Gomog and Lorne and that you appear (IMHO) to thus have an agenda. Simple as that. Brian you're entitled to your own opinion, but don't go throwing accusations around that you have no way of backing up. I will leave it to others to make their own minds up based on what they read. As far as I'm concerned you have done yourself no favours.
