They are adjusted now to about one inch above, and I can see a big improvement on flexible adjustment over the oval ones.

Looking at my photos and comparing them with yours I think I have my driver's mirror angled one notch further out. I use them a lot when reversing and prefer to be able to see the line of the the side of the rear guard rather than see over it.

The main reason I want to change is that the passenger side mirror arm is too close to the body of the car. Not only does it give a lopsided appearance but it does not give the correct angle for viewing the position of the car when reversing into my garage.

In the photo below the diver's side mirror in in the position I prefer.

Just a thought i use a silicon sray on any exposed chrome seems to help keep rut at bay anr also a steel wool pad is excellent for removing rust from chrome
