Its often been thought that Dying in your sleep is "the best way to go", however i am not quite sure that would be the best way.

I have long worried over death, probably because its something 'as a control freek' i can't control.

My Grandfather walked to work, 1 1/2 mile each way everyday. he would arrive at the bait cabin were his Pal would have the Kettle on for a brew, one day and what was thought to have been a healthy man he arrived at the cabin, sat down and when his Pal turned around with his cupa, he was stone cold Dead , 55yr old.

My father at 63 yrs old, sat in his chair at home stud up and complained of a pain in his knee, my Mother drove him to hospital for a check up, she was asked to go home and return to the Hospital with some Pyjamers for him to stay over night for tests, when she returned an hour later he had Gone, a blood clot from the knee to the heart in seconds, although under the supervision of the Nurses they couldnt save him.

So although these deseases may give us great concern....with modern medicine it can give us good extended life and time to enjoy our passion.

As for 15years left, if the lights stay on until i pass 75yrs il be a happy boy, as long as iam healthy enough to enjoy them, with or without medication

That, too thumbs. We told the annuity man "keep the money looking good until 75ish, and then it's 'thank you, and goodnight'".

I hope I may have another 15 years, but it could be 15 days, or even 15 minutes.
Makes you look at life very differently, and particularly value the friendships and fun that has come from owning my 4/4

Right, I'm off to "the bar" and to play a game of darts

cheers

Well done Bud, I think you have to live every day as though as though its a holiday and a visit to the pub sounds just the ticket. sunny Last year was my 30th-anniversary on a certain type of chemotherapy, 12-tablets a day for this period and still on them. thumbs That's a lot of tablets, no wonder some of my cars rattle! blush

Unfortunately the Consultant who told me that if I was lucky if I made 50-55 years old is now dead, he also told me not to return to Africa as it would kill me, but life is not a rehearsal and luckily, I had the support of my wife and family so I'm still visiting the Dark Continent that caused my health problem in the first place. I've long passed his predicted witching years for me. cheers

I'm sure you have the right attitude Bud, I'm raising my glass to you, Boshers - me old mate, NeilM, and anyone else who has recently triumphed over health adversity. It may end for me tomorrow, but it has been a good innings and I've enjoyed it. Here's wishing you all the very best mate(s) on your own journey!

NGUNS is the answer, now where are those car catalogues as I need to own a few more toys before my mortal coil finally gives up the ghost. Cheers all! wine

Best wishes
Brian

Remember we die if we worry and we die if we don't worry.

couldn't agree more with Bud & Brian, today is my 60th Birthday, I have lived relatively illness free (touching wood) 8 years more than my Father did.
I cherish the days when I can drive the Mog & see my family and mates, today if I'm lucky I shall eat good food and drink fine wine and toast everyone I have met in this life and hope to go on sharing a beer or glass of wine with you all whether in person or in spirit.
Have a good day.
