Having done it a few times recently have a great day. Don't forget to visit the Morgan Pub, just round the corner for lunch,
excellent Wye Valley Ales and good (if a little pricey) food.

You will probably find some great ideas for more paintings! Look forward to meeting you,

happy3 Great news for me, I am hiring the Morgan from Williams on the 29th, so I get my first drive of a Morgan drive (I've only ever been a passenger in a couple of Morgans before) and I get to visit the factory!

I feel a bigger addiction to painting Morgans coming on!

Reckon it'll be more than just an addiction to painting Morgans after you've driven one Neil!

Steve, I'm really looking forward to the hiring of the Morgan from Williams in April, I'm at Williams this Saturday for their Open Day, so might get to test drive a few Morgans, maybe even a 3 wheeler! Looking forward to seeing you on the 29th,

Neil

With such an esteemed group of enthusiasts who will be on this visit, plus those already on the Tour of Wales, perhaps I should be at the Factory Visitor Center Door with my H4H Tins rather than be in (the) Bath at Sainsbury's??????????? oldgit

Would I do better here, I ask myself? idea

If someone who (wears a cap) wants to organise a 'whip round' for my H4H fund in my absence, I'll be very much motivated to pop in there on Tuesday on my way to Worcester to collect it? hide

Afternoon run to Craig Y Nos.

woohoo
Leave Metropole car park and turn right onto Beaufort Road.
At end of road turn right onto Spa Rd East.
At the junction bear left onto A483 and drive to Builth Wells.
As you drop down to Builth you will see the Royal Welsh Showground on the RHS.
At roundabout take first left and follow the road into the town centre over the river bridge.
Just over bridge look for the sign A483 Llandovery by the Lion Hoteland follow that road through the narrow one way street.
Carry on watching for signs for Llanwrtyd Wells (13 miles) and move to left hand lane and take A483 signposted Llandovery (church on RHS).
Stay on this road for several miles, passing Cilmery/Garth/Beulah/Llanwrtyd Wells.
Stay on the A483 to Llandovery after several miles you will pass the county boundary for Carmarthenshire.
Just after this sign the road twists round the "Sugar Loaf" and you need to watch your speed as the bends are blind/tight in parts. On an S-bend there is a layby you could use to regroup your convoy - just round s tight bend. You now have a downhill run through Cynghordy, watch the traffic as lorries slow it down and people are tempted to risk overtaking!
Enter Llandovery on this road and at a T-junc turn left onto A40 signposted Brecon.
Pass Llandovery College on your LHS, watching for a sign for A4069 Llangadog. Turn right onto A4069 - Llangadog 5 miles.
On this junction is the well known West End Café - a popular bikers café and not bad too!
The next stage will take you up over the Black Mountain - keep an eye out for bikes/cars at speed and speed cameras!!!!
As you get into centre of Llangadog the street narrows so take care and at its narrowest you enter a small square. Turn sharp left here - Black Lion pub on your rhs and Castle hotel opposite. Beware - its a blind/tight turn!!!! You may see chunks out of the wall of a house painted red - made by lorries!!!
Watch for hand held/mobile speed police just after this turn cop and carry on out of the village. This next stretch is (in)famous as a drivers road (Top Gear etc) drive
Take care on some bends as they are narrow and blind.
After a couple of miles the road starts to climb and the scenery changes. This is the where best part of the road starts, with a couple of tight bends including one very tight hairpin. The views are stunning on a clear day and there are laybys/car parks further along to stop and regroup before you carry on to Brynamman. There was a fatality towards Brynamman last week so err on cautious side on bends and watch for sheep!
Cross the cattle grid into Brynamman and watch for speed bumps as you descend through the village.
Your navigators can now relax and get the circulation back into their knuckles!
Brynamman is an ex mining village ( I have relatives there so watch out!!!)
Watch for a sign near a mini roundabout for Gwaun cae Gurwen/Ammanford and bear right here through a fairly tight s- bend stretch and then continuing for a mile or so through the village.
At next junction turn left - signposted A474 Pontardawe.
Stay on this road to Pontardawe.
At the traffioc lights turn right (Dillwyn Arms is on this junction opposite you).
At roundabout take first left - signposted Breco then Town Centre.
At next roundabout (not far) go straight on - signposted Neath/M4.
At next roundabout (nor far) take 3rd exit - signposted Clydach and Ystalyfera, passing the Pontardawe Inn on your left.
At roundabout take first exit- signposted A4067 Brecon.
At next roundabout (approx. 1 mile) take second exit for Ystalyfera/Dan Yr Ogof Caves.
Stay on A4067 through/past Ystalyfera and a couple of roundabouts keeping on this road signposted for Brecon.
Stay on A4067 passing Yatradgynlais/Abercrave/The Ancient Briton Pub/Penycae.
NEARLY THERE!!!
About a mile past Penycae is Craig Y Nos Park and mansion.
YOU ARE THERE!
Hope that route isn't too much hassle, but it does give you a nice range of roads. I was toying with an alternative that brings you down to Craig Y Nos from the Brecon direction but thought the A4069 was too good to miss! You can do that if you want by heading for Brecon from Llandovery and turning down onto the A4067 just on the Brecon side of Sennybridge. This takes you over the Beacons passing the Cray reservoir and down to Craig Y Nos.
