I agree seems something is getting stuck. Might be worth checking the throttle idle screw on the carb in case it somehow as worked loose?? (Not sure how...)

I would suggest an "Italian tune-up" i.e. give it a good thrashing and you may find it only needed some spirited use!!

Hi,
I had a similar problem, but my cvh 4/4 has a dft weber carb. The choke sometimes would work and sometimes not, but the tickover was always slow.
When i dismantled the auto choke mechanism i found the plastic part of the mechanism that raises the tickover speed-had snapped off, and was rattling around inside the cylindrical casting.
Gomog had the weber manual and part numbers.
I bought a new auto choke mech off E bay.
Hope this helps someone...

Well, had a great outing today - had to drop the lad off at a pals in alnwick, so took the liberty of finding the scenic route back.

!00 mile italian tune up and the car was purring like a kitten on its return - I was intending to take a few photos of the snowy northumberland hills covered with snow - but was having too much fun to stop
