I was thinking to replace the standard interior mirror (the one with the back housing and the manual dimming lever) with this one: http://www.morgan-motor.co.uk/mmc/shop/i...-stainless.html Is it s plug&play fit? Do you have other/better alternatives to suggest? Any help more than welcome.

Hi Ale 72, I just this week changed mirrors. I bought the one from Heart of England which is a straight replacement for the plastic dipping mirror. I was advised to be careful about changing it over when the temperature is too cold as the black plastic fitting can snap. The black plastic fitting is slid down over the windscreen fitting. So to remove you need to slide the black fitting up (parallel) to the windscreen. The mirror will move up as well, however do not use the mirror to remove the black plastic fitting. To install fit the new mirror onto the plastic fitting and slide it down onto the windscreen fitting. As it was so cold mine has got about an eighth of an inch to go to fully fit. I will leave that until the temperature is a bit warmer. I must say that the Aero Racing fitting looks better than my mirror. I would guess that it fits over the windscreen fitting and is secured via a grub screw.

Ciao Wirewheel, thanks for the info. So the removal should be quite straightforward. Maybe I'll anyhow invest these 40gbp in the aero racing one and see how does it looks and if it fits properly without too much hassle. I am just waiting from them some details on the polo/t-shirt sizes and then I'll place my order (to minimize shipping costs).

My S1 has a small mirror like this one, looks much better looking than the large plastic one.
Kind regards Chris

Yes I swapped mine too. I couldn't see past the big plastic item...almost as big as the screen

If I recall BHM replaced my mirror before I collected the car. Getting the adhesive pad off the windscreen was rather brutal but effective. I am sure they could advise!
