Hi Guys, first post so I thought I’d give it a try....

I have been informed that tachometers were not fitted to flat rads, but after attending numerous events I have seen a lot of flat rads had one fitted, accurate or not, it would be very useful to have one.

Does anyone know or could find out by looking on their own car which model number of Smiths Tach was fitted to these early cars. I understand that sourcing a cream/magnolia fronted one might be difficult but this would give me a starting point.

Also if anyone has had the cream faces of the dials restored and could pass me on the details of the company it would be greatly appreciated

Any help with this issue would be amazing.

Thanks smile

Hi Morgan Dan, welcome to the forum.
I have not got the answer, however, I am sure someone will come along to help.
In the meantime have a look at the Holden Classic web site to get an idea of some of the tachos out there.

No connection, just happy customer.

Hi Dan, welcome to TalkMorgan! Try Melvyn Rutter, he has an in-house facility for instrument restoration. You could also try emailing to find whether he can help with the tacho question.

Best of luck, Gerry (just over the border into Herts)
