Thanks for that . Very clear and helpfull. I am sure rising rate springs are good even though they might benefit from a longer suspension travel to fully exploit their advantages. Now please try to convince me that the varying frictional loads on the bushes in corner and brake don't have an effect on the reflexiveness of the suspension.

Raf, frictional loads on the bushes are always a problem - the best I have achieved:- Vesconite HiLube bushes, Hard chrome pins, lip seals to keep the dirt out, good grease between the bushes, no oil in the top (washes grease out), low damper bump rates and soft intial spring rate - all reduce bush loading over small inputs. Big inputs less of a problem as stiction has been broken, unless the pin bends, but then HiLube has a lower 'E' than bronze.
More travel would be good too, but 'we' have stolen the space taken up by the that little incompressible 1 inch rubber sleeve that Morgan shove up inside their shroud/dustcover.
Of course when Morgan got rid of the 3/4inch (or so) compression in the rebound spring they reduced the bump travel by 3/4 inch - brilliant.....NOT!

There's a short article and a pic in April's Miscellany (arrived this morning) about the Suplex rising rate spring. From the photo, I cannot see whether the main spring itself is rising rate or whether the extra stiffness in bump comes from the small inner spring that sits above the stub axle inside the shroud.
Interesting though, I might be tempted.

PJB took me out in his car today at the Williams BBQ bash. I have to say that I was very impressed with the ride and cornering on some fairly bumpy back roads. We had a good look at the Suplex kit in the workshop as well, nicely made and that little inner spring is quite interesting and a bit of a surprise to me!
