Bumpy...

Please tell me you cleared the snow away from that bed frame to check no one was trapped?

D'ell sleeping outside in March. Breed 'em tough in Wales.

For a minute Bumpy I bought your Roadster was underneath that snow ! I trust you had the roof down for your trip thumbs

I took my Roadster out half tonneau with no side screens ( I think you can mount the side screens half tonneau but it looks tricky). It was freezing at top speed but at lower speeds I was warm enough and the heated seats kept my posterior warm (I thought I could smell burning).

Wide grins from other road users and children especially love the car.

swmbo thinks I'm a lunatic.

Am a half tonneau man all the time ... and have had the side screens on since January ... they save getting 'ice head' from the constant buffeting of freezing air / fog.
I have only used the hood once and prefer to smell / feel and taste the weather !!
I just fitted the side screens and left the tonneau on inside of car loose... if the car is being left and there is a chance of rain, just lift up the tonneau edge so its pointing up and and inside of cover is against the side screen, this makes a drain channel towards rear of door for the water to escape instead of dripping down the inside of the door however the zip leaks so a mini-cockpit cover is on the agenda.

I have never switched the heated seats off since November when I purchased the car, and they have done an great job keeping me warm ...however on friday I played about with the heater vent under the dash and now have a lovely blast of hot air going on to my feet ...it is in deed a toasty cabin even with no roof !

Getting back on topic ... 4 oclock is the best position for my petrol fill.

It's a great spot for a Morgan. I'm lucky to have it on my doorstep. Driving through the grounds of Ashridge House the car looked totally at home.

Success filling the Mog up today. Positioned the handle at 5 o’clock and just light pressure - it filled slowly but steadily to the full mark.

Like with most things Morgan, there is a technique !

Excellent, glad to hear it! I did the same at a Shell station in Wellingborough today using the gently-gently technique, but had to wave away a very polite Polish chap who wanted to fill up for me. I told him, best leave it to me...

The original hose had the smaller pipe left full length, resulting in a loop which formed an air lock. I cut the new one down so that there was a fall all the way to the tank & from that day on, it filled at full pump speed. I don't have any problems with the 3.7 Roadster. I notice that the vent pipe now comes from a connection on the filler cap assembly. I'd check that the vent pipe does go down hill all the way to the tank ( & also that it hasn't kinked)

David, it almost certainly IS the car that's at fault. I too had this problem - 2005 4/4 - but the filler hose perished and when I replaced it I cut the vent hose to the correct length - no problems since. Take out your spare tyre (if there is one - will be difficult if you have a flat back panel!) and look at the hose - the smaller vent hose comes off at right angles and should run towards the left, without a pronounced bend, downwards to the vent on top of the tank. If it's too long, undo the clamp and re-cut to length (a Stanley knife does it nicely). No smoking of course!

I'm visiting the factory in May, so will look at cars being built to see if this is an original "feature"!

Nigel - Thank you for the tip.

Removed spare wheel and released air vent pipe from filling line by removing jubilee clip, cut back pipe about 25mm to get a nicer sweep.

Went to fill up .... at 12 oclock position managed to have the petrol pump dispencing on full bore till tank full... noted it was a full tank as well.

5 min job requiring a flat bladed screw driver & stanley knife.
