Hi

After any advice on the 2 current mk3 Aero8's for sale in the UK at the mo.

Popped along and drove the one at Hereford a few days back. Lovely looking car and drove well. Looking at the Aero8 register I wonder if it was originally a members on here ? Would love to know some background on the car.

Will also be looking at this car which is on SOR at the mo. Anyone's on here ?

If anyone else is considering selling their pride and joy, let me know

If nothing else, I would recommend having a chat to the guys at Williams - they are Morgan specialists nowadays, not a multifranchise type dealer... smile
Better still, pay them a visit... You've just missed their open day, last Saturday.

The cars you mention Dave are both relatively high mileage examples, if I was in the market for a Mark 3 I would certainly look at this car in SGT. It belonged to a former TM'er, so it's a known car, and is in 'as new' condition with only 1700 miles on the clock.

It is a trifle more expensive than the other cars, but Julian is always open to a deal!
Good luck with your search and welcome to TalkMorgan Dave. cheers

Cheers
Brian

Used to live in Wickwar and funnily enough down to see my mum for her birthday this weekend, in Yate. My missus isn't too impressed I'm popping out to Williams for an hour wink

Thanks for heads up, as I missed that car. Was trying to stick to £50k max, but worth a call as you suggest. Be good to see if it has managed to avoid corrosion on the body work, which I have seen on cars to date.

So picking up on point re mileage, how sensitive are these cars to higher miles ? Assume drive train can take it no probs, so is it more a case of potential buyers are used to seeing lower mileage cars out there ?

Hi Dave,

the mileage on the Aero is probably best described as the lower mileage the better, same for the amount of owners the vehicle has had.

I waited and bought a fine low mileage, low owners example privately for about 10k less than a london dealer would charge.

The drivetrain is very good and I would not expect to see any problems in that area with a mileage of around 30k, however I do agree that 30k is quite high,

I would wait and see if something with lower mileage turns up if it were me buying.

all the best,

Ian.

Hi Dave,

I'm sure you'll find on TM that every owner of a new Morgan goes through a process for fettling and generally this can only be done with use of the car. Very low mileage examples are unlikely to have been fettled so you should be prepared for having to accept some additional costs in early ownership especially if out of warranty.

By the way welcome to TM

Agree with John - Aero 8's are better when used and maintained (like all cars). Low mileage cars, which haven't been used and maintained properly, could (will?) suffer with niggles (due to not being fettled when new) and issues created by lack of use.

I may know of an S4 for sale - that isn't currently advertised - but I believe it is above your stated budget.

I've seen the SGT car and it looks fantastic, if I was in the market for a series 3 then I'd seriously consider putting my money there. Nothing do do with miles, just looks in good nick and nice colour.

HAving bought 4 Aeros now (ok Brians bought more than me, but few others have!) I say buy Aeros on condition not mileage. The mileage is completely irrelevant on these cars, you can have a 500 mile dog or a 50k mile gem, and I've seen both in my time!
