Coming back from a drive out..a pheasant with a hatred of life ran out too late for me and too slow for it...thud....left a a perfectly pheasant sized round dent in lower bottom part of drivrs side front bumper. Thought it was ok..then when got home saw it needs dealing with.
On the good side..it could have been worse..big birds those pheasants, i now need to see if it can have the dent pulled out. Its knowing its there, which is the annoying thing after only such a short time. Ahhhh well...its been well and truly blooded.

What a pain in the rump!!! So much for a nice easy run out in the car. Sorry to hear the news but with some luck it will be an easy remedy and not need paint.

I used to make myself sick over this very point! So not only would I have the damage to upset me but also I'd dwell on it for hours after it happened, making myself feel ever worse. So, yep, I feel for you and can commiserate! For my cars I now take the view that I'd rather enjoy them (and maybe dent them) than keep them in perfect condition and not use them (only for the next owner to get the benefit of a cheap car in mint condition). It's hard but I'm trying!

I'll get a recommendation from Allon White's on their return from hols on the 2nd. There are a few paintless dent removal people around, but I'll get the view from the AW's guys 1st and take a view on how to go about it, no rush. Its an orange sized dent in diameter, but not too deep and the paint is not cracked, the bumper is a bit looser on that side now as well, so will check that out ...will do a photo to show.
I agree simon, I do tend to dwell on these things - but its here to be used and its fun to take the car out; the pheasant had it coming to him. Better to have hit it rather than stuffed the car (avec wife) in a bold but potentially foolish stopping and evading manouevre. I was doing ca. <45 mph so a decent impact (coming back from mentmore..very nice roads - but narrow and no room). A bit of money / insurance will sort it out (and I get a story for the car)
I now wait to hear from everyone elses roadkill stories.

Bad luck woolfie..........Aluminium should be an issue as long as the metal hasn't beem stretched. I, like Simon hate this kind of damage but it does make it easier if the car is second hand. If anything happened to the Viper for instance...it would have to go as it's completely original paintwork. Crazy really. Mustang has had paint already and it's put me off the car big time. Scraped the Aero getting it in the garage the other day (on the bumper right on the edge) took it to be blown in which they did in the wrong colour and scratched the rear wing while they repaired the front. Now the car needs complete frontal and rear wing and its pearlenscent so what are the chances of that coming good. I hate looking after cars, I hate myself for being so fussy but slowly I'm coming round to the fact that I should just use and abuse and get greater satisfaction.
