I made two posts on this thread and stand by all I have said in both of them. How this thread has degenerated into the mess it has become is mystery to me. Blake, I wish you the best of success with resolving your concerns with your M3W. Unlike my own personal first-Morgan experience, I hope you can find your way through the frustration unscathed, so that you can get down to enjoying the vehicle with a minimum of stress.

There are a host of points made on this thread, many more than by myself. I didn't start the Morgan vs BMW analogy (though I do see relevance in it). I chose my words carefully, tried to be balanced, was clear that the discussion was intended to be constructive, acknowledged that this is a "nice" site, introduced a bit of humour with the "Three Musketeers" analogy (you did see the didn't you?) following the "Factory Visits So, come on guys, you have your views, I have mine, but be assured that all my comments above and in the previous posts are rooted in a genuine desire to improve MMC quality and viability to the mutual benefit of the customer/owner and the company alike. Let me say first of all that I found your reference to "3-musketeers" totally unnecessary, in that in the context of the post it implied that we're not objective and operate group think, and you are totally objective - based presumably on your purchase of a 2005 Plus 4? Or was it some other criteria, maybe you can elucidate? Whilst Andy and Simon are friends, there as far as I'm concerned the Morgan relationship starts and ends there. We are from very different backgrounds and that is just one reason why I find your glib grouping, based on limited knowledge quite offensive! I don't work for MMC, nor am I paid by them in any way, but I have bought a number of Morgan's and whilst not perfect - in fact far from, I think that the Works try very hard to give the customer a positive experience. It is very easy to snipe from the side lines, but anyone who has run their own business knows the difficulties involved in satisfying customer expectations and I wonder if you have ever been in that position? You now say delete my account, but it's more difficult to fess up and defend your corner. MZ live up to you name and let us hear from you? Let us know on which basis you hold such negative views about the company and its staff, or maybe its just TM (though I don't know what we've done to offend you) or are you just a troll? We need to be told? Sorry to be very direct, but I do come from Yorkshire! Aeroman

wow, to quote the famous line from the movie jaws,
"we're going to need a bigger boat"
OK, let's all give each other big, debris covered, imperfection loving hugs and realize we are all here and passionate for the same reasons, we love automobiles. The old ones, the new ones, the 4 wheeled ones, and even those crazy ass 3 wheeled ones. Sadly it's that same passion that can drive us crazy as we are so emotional about such things.
I never meant for this thread to turn in to this as to be honest I wrote it after a really really shitty week that ended in me losing my wallet and while i was trying to backtrack for my wallet it seemed the shift knob, oversized mats, and bevel box rattles all decided to stare me directly in the eyes as if to taunt me and I just kind of snapped.
That being said, i still think morgan as well as the community can benefit from an open dialogue about things that we have personally come in to contact with as it pertains to production issues. I think an open community with an attitude towards improvement, and openness to suggestions is a stronger community.
There's tons of nuanced he said she said things and comparisons that we could all get in to about things that have been said on this thread but i don't think that gets us anywhere and as m3boy pointed out, it's sad to see things get to that level.
I'm going to ask that the mods lock this thread and once i've got some responses from morgan and my dealer (full of glorious solutions and fixes of course) I'll update everyone on them and we can see how we can help those others who might be working through similar issues.
Long story short, big group hug and i love you all. including the flawed but wildly lovable 3 wheeler i just took across the golden gate bridge and enjoyed about 30 minutes of lovely morning driving as I needed to clear my head.
Love you all.
Sincerely,
Blake

Andy, "A few cheap shots"? May be, but given recent history, what would you expect really? It now seems that you're offering the publication of the private mail messages we exchanged? To be honest I have no problem with that, I retained copies of the originals and I've nothing to hide there whatsoever. It has definitely challenged my view of the integrity of the private message system.... again. However, to be clear, whilst I really valued your off line attempts at mediation recently, and your very carefully crafted words, I think that you can't expect to suggest to someone that they "appear to lack confidence" or advise them to "chill out more" and to "take from the site what they like and just move on and ignore the stuff they don't", and then jump to such a defensive stance like this the first time they post something that perhaps isn't within the comfort zone of you, or the other Mods. IMHO, that could be construed as veering towards hypocrisy.
Philip, I know you will read this. I didn't say I will publish our messages I inferred that I would be comfortable doing so yet questioned whether you would be after you were highly critical of Simon who I know most hold in high regard; and where I felt that criticism was unjust. With hindsight however maybe even that was unfair. I would however also add that selective quoting, as you have done, IMHO is meaningless if not offensive. As for your comments above, I am more than happy to accept others have differing views, in fact I'm reasoned enough to expect it. I have no problem with Blakes post, I have commented and added my own opinion twice without getting upset with what he or others had posted. It was contrary to my general thoughts in places but it's his opinion and he's entitled to it. Your posts on the other hand I took umbrage with. Not for the content or the criticism of the factory (a few others did the same yet I have no issue with this) but for the digs that you were carrying over from our previous discussions. You just wouldn't let it lie! You've also now accused me of "throwing my toys out of the pram" because a few weeks ago I privately challenged someone else's wording of a point of view that, rightly or wrongly, I was offended by at the time. Could it not also be perceived that the collective responses to my words on this thread could be are equally seen as being a bit unbalanced? There were others who agreed with the points I raised, and even my phraseology. Finally, Andy, the "I rest my case" post was meant to say the "Three Musketeers" defence had leaped to the noble Morgan cause, nothing more. Maybe I should have taken the time to post the ? If you took it as a snide comment, it wasn't meant to be, and IMHO, maybe that's a bit of your hypersensitivity. I think the moderation on here has been commented on enough. Whilst you feel you have the right to be critical (and you do - as long as its 'justified') I/we have the right to proffer our own, in this case contrary, opinion. simples. (my sincere apologies to all TM'ers for the use of that dreadful phrase ) I really have no more to say. Let us return to more meaningful discussions. My apologies M3Boy and Budster, you are both right, but regrettably I ain't perfect and wear my heart on my sleeve And lastly - Richard, its coming along nicely thanks!
Cheers

....I'll go now and you can delete my account please Simon. I hope Simon doesn't, Monte. This Forum is simply the best place for discussing all things Morgan (and non-M too) and (as I have stated before) I enjoy reading the views of others who (sometimes) hold differing views to mine. By this means, I gain a wider knowledge and more rounded views. Clearly you and Simon (and others) are at opposite ends of the argument more often than most but that should not mean that you cant contribute. It just needs not to be "personal" (on EITHER side) and we must all remember that nuances can easily be missed. Bud's "put the memo in the drawer overnight" is very apt and I hope you still contribute in the future. Cheers Jeremy

Just remembered mine is off the car so I'll take some pictures tonight so you can see how its assembled. Hi John - did you get a chance to take some pictures of your knob? (!!!) Mine is wonky - I hadn't realised that it could be removed and refitted Stuart

Blake you have said nothing wrong. In fact your post generated, in the main, nice sensible debate from passionate people. Different opinions in some cases but as I am getting fed up of saying, we're all entitled to them I would like to hope that it educated some. A few to the issues that exist (and that includes MMC) and some in the reasons that maybe some of those issues exist in the first place
Cheers

Stuart, hope this helps although saying that not sure posting broken knob pics on the Internet won't cause me problems in later life. The black bit is important so make sure you put it back in.
