Hi everyone.

I took delivery of my new Roadster in February and didn't realise that the side screens had new magnets attached. As I live in Singapore and only back in the UK for a few weeks a year I have no first hand experience of how these perform. I wondered if there had been any feedback on the effectiveness or not of these. My old +4 side screens fitted well but turned into flapping wings at higher speed.

I drove around for a few days with no side screens (my preference if at all possible anyway) and only fitted them when I put the Roadster away for storage so, as I say, no experience of if they work or not. Also, I am now wondering best way to store - on or off in terms of maintaining magnetism.

The factory don't fit the magnets any more - so it was only a fleeting experiment. However I have them fitted to my 3.7 and I'd say they work very well. My dealer adjusted the screen brackets slightly so that the screens were held a little more tightly in (mine were a bit straight) and the screens now stay tight (almost locked) to the windscreen at all speeds. Previously (before adjustment) the screens would 'pop' off the screen over bumps in the road - now they don't.

I don't think there's any danger or worry about them losing their magnetism by leaving the screens on.

ETA Thinking about it some more.... When buying a horseshoe magnet, they always came with a bar or keeper across them. So it's possible that the screens on during storage does more good than harm.

Congrats on the new car. I was wondering if I'd missed a post - but seeing this one is your first etc - a belated welcome to the forum and I'd love to see a few shots of the car.

Welcome from a frequent visitor to Singapore ... there is at least one Morgan there - are you going to add another (what's the current COE? )??

Hi and thanks for the welcome. I am hoping to be reunited with my Roadster later this year as we may relocate back home. Over 6 years here and I have not seen that solitary Morgan but I did find a copy of Miscellany in the bar at the British Club last month! COE around S$60k presently I understand!

Anyway hoping I wont need to use them too much with the wonderful UK weather.

You're absolutely right about that magnet keep. I guess I will find out when I get back!

The magnets work perfectly, but only if they are adjusted so that both magnets are in flat contact with the keeper.
