The time was probably spent finding the white gloves and putting them on to handle the umbrella, unpacking the umbrella.

Have just had my 2012 Roadster serviced $332.39 inclusive of gst (goods and services tax) here in New Zealand. That was for oil grease general check up. Randall

What IS Morgan's policy on required service with respect to the warranty? Here in the states, the registered owner can perform services and still stay within the warranty as long as it's properly documented.

I almost always do my own service, even (and especially) on my new cars. I think I can do a better job--I have the manuals and I take my time and do a very thorough, detailed job--something the dealers sometimes fail to do.

I lived in Holland for about 8 years back in the 90's, and I did my own service there. I was once given a lecture by a Dutch auto parts salesman for "taking away work from mechanics." Turns out I was one of the few (maybe the only) non-tradesman customer to buy from his store. I changed stores, but this attitude was common.

Hi henry dog. i hope your enjoying the morgan. Just saw the post. i think we charge 299 for an annual service. if your car is due other service items such as brake fluid, coolant, spark plugs it would be more...... we are always very happy to do the work and you can see exactly what e do when we service your morgan. we like customers to see whats been done. jeremy can explain this im sure......

Thank you to those who provided some guidance on service costs. Having asked a couple of dealers I am very confused by the difference in what they suggest is required.

My 2 year old plus 4 has had one service at 1000 miles and now 12 months later has 2500 miles on the clock. One dealer proposed doing a service at 3000 miles priced around £200 while another suggested that i should have a thorough check/service around one day of work would be £400 to £500. At this time I have not clarified what each will do and why such a different view of requirements. Can anyone shed any light or give an opinion prior to me taking further with the dealers.

My only thought, is if your motor is just under 2years old and in warrantee, get it checked out for any warrantee work at the same time as a service.
In my view, I believe classic Morgans need a good spanner check at least once a year, even on relatively low mileages.
Today, whilst up on the ramp at the tyre shop, I took the opportunity to have a look under my 20 month old motor. Guess what, I found the gearbox filler plug was loose. Now tightened. Better safe than sorry.
