He gave a fair review of the SS, previously shown on Fifth Gear, as far as a "Dick" is concerned, everyone one to their own opinion, but i hold him in higher regard than the 3 Dicks on Top Gear

I have it on good authority from a Morgan factory employee that the car tested was one of the first Plus 8's built, there have been a number of improvements since.

Jason Plato drives a 911 as a daily driver so it was never going to get a glowing report in his hands!

Kind regards
Chris

Looks like it was the car Chris Harris drove to Geneva 2012 and was the first development car.

Yes I think that is the car, Plato has done Morgan no favours there and they are not best pleased!

Kind regards

Sadly the worst review I have ever seen of a Morgan and worse I don't think you can just dismiss Plato as totally unsuitable to test the car. Seasoned presenter and an accomplished racer, the car is after all a sports car, perhaps he does miss the point though about Morgan ownership. Hopefully, as has been said, the issues have been sorted in this car, pitty they weren't addressed before hand, he might not look at it again.

I have said before, for critcal road tests Morgan should make sure only the very best test cars are available.

It seems a bit bonkers to me. Every other car company in the world spends a great deal of effort ensuring that the cars it gives to the press to test are specially prepared to be as good as they can be.

MMC give out a development hack, and then wonder why the car gets slagged off...

TV car reviews are simple formulaic entertainment. Great fun to watch, but ultimately rather silly and puerile.

Morgans sit in the strange hinterland between modern sports cars and classics. They defy a normal review. They're not Porsches or Jags - it's only the price that's comparable.

In which case, surely it would be better if MMC were to refuse to let their cars be reviewed by mainstream journalists if they can't be bothered to prepare one properly?

I quite like your second para, very apt. May I pinch it when required? smile

I'm far from Jason Plato but have driven a few cars in my time. I thought it drove superbly albeit, on the road. Guess it will be no good for what he wants, but suits my needs nicely.

Cheers
