Congrats Charlie on the successful pick-up of your 3W, a great write-up by the way. Out of all the Morgan's that we've had, including the Max and the Aero SS, our 3W provokes the most response from the public, people just love it and want to photograph it and talk about it. Filling it up with petrol becomes a major event, as people in the filling station want to know what it is and what year it was built. And when we drive down the High Street in our village (which is one way) people jump out in front of us and we have to stop whilst they take photos. Mine is now fully fettled, run-in and loosening up and the performance is as Rolls Royce used to say "adequate"; more than really. I hope that you have a warm front moving in your direction, but even if you don't get in it Charlie and drive.... Brian

Charlie, I bet your relieved its now at home, but can we have a review from Meghann I just hope it's not like my other halves who summed it up by saying. "You only bought this so I'd stop moaning about the aero"

Well.. I got mine on Wednesday, having it delivered from Williams to my house. It then rained for most of the week although I did manage to collect one of my kids from school on one evening which is a 30 mile round trip. Yesterday felt like the first day of spring so i managed to put another 70 miles in and I am really enjoying.
I am not sure if I have a noisy bevel box or not as there is lovely noise from everywhere.
I am hoping that there is a bit of room to move the pedal box back as it a bit tight at the moment, and I will certainly have to moderate the pie intake. BUT with no goggles and helmet if you sit in a certain position the screens do their job if you are just pootling around.
Even rev-limited I can see that the performance is sufficient for me and anyone upgrading the power must be mental (in a good way of course)
The only negatives so far Steering lock worse than a '56 land rover (that's bad) driving in the dark - although the headlights are good one seems to sit at the exact height that causes approaching cars dipped beam to dazzle.
Looking online for goggles and have got my D1 sheepskin jacket out of retirement, but hoping for the first decent northern summer for 6 years.

Congrats Desolate
Both your and Charlie's comments match my experience
On the rev limit (Charlie also) - do you actually notice one, or is it self imposed? My dealer told me it was electronically limited to 3.5k for the running in period, but I see no evidence of this... obviously I'm trying to pay attention, but it frequently goes above 4k with no sign of a limiter kicking in (I've done about 300 miles now).
I washed mine outside my house at the weekend... that was interesting. Virtually impossible to get anything done due to people stopping to talk, and also nearly caused a few accidents as cars just stopped for the drivers to stare (and the ones behind beeped)

Hopefully the rain issue is decreasing with every day that goes by, but a useful tip is to buy a cheap motorcyle, all-in-one rainsuit, I bought one at Lidls when they had them in, and keep it in the back. You will also need a small towel to wear around your neck, don't ask how I found out I needed one!
When Lidls have a 'motorcycle' event, they also do closed and open faced helmets for around £20, which probably wouldn't be to clever on a high powered bike, but work a treat in the Mog - I bought an open face, with a visor which pulls down to cover my face. Keeps the noise down on those long trips too.
Keep those enthusiastic reports coming you new boys.........

Congratulations Charlie. I loved your write up - what a great experience for your first drive.
I'm sure you are looking forward to wracking up many more (s)miles as soon as the weather warms up.

Thank you, everyone, for the wonderful comments.
Vspec, I did not notice a rev limiter, nor was I directly told about one from the dealership, but I do remember reading about one not too long ago. I was rather good at keeping it in the 2500-3500 rpm range for the drive. I only approached 4000 rpms maybe twice in my trip.
Paul, I too hope the rain decreases, but in all honesty the Great Lakes really need it as they are at the lowest they have ever been. Also, my yard seems to like it.
Asbo, Meghanns review would be 'great fun with lots of attention, but it was too cold' and then she would slip in that I 'don't have the proper license to be driving about and without a plate I am just looking for trouble.'
Which brings me to my next hurdles, getting a CY endorsement on my drivers license and waiting for a real plate to be delivered.

Nice piece charlie - not sure if it translates the same though, but if I got chatted up next to a red light by a guy on a Harley, I might break into a cold sweat in spite of the weather
