Yesterday I spent a great day in Italy with my MG friends.
Great food, proper wine, lovely company BUT it was raining.
I found out that in the rear central part where the two hoods are together there is some water getting into the car (ok, let's be fair, after three hours under heavy rain) but since I identified where it is, I will find a way to fix it.
What is "worrying" me more is that there was quite a lot of water even on the side of the doors (where in "normal" cars there are the door sills) and in the lower external part of the dashboard.
I know that the most obvious thing should be to bring it to the dealer, but if there are common leaking points maybe somebody has already an idea on how to fix them.

In the case of my car, the water which was soaking the inside of the doors and "sills" was coming from the channel at the bottom of the sidescreens. I drilled a small hole at an upward angle at the front outside corner of each sidescreen and it cured the problem. I think that there may have been a small change in the shape of the sidescreens because I never had the problem on my previous Morgans.

I think that the "door inside" could be a good source for my infiltration as well.
Do you have a picture of where did you drill the hole?

Ale, the Aero and traditional models have a very different door and window design. I'm not sure you can drill drain holes on an Aero.

On my Aero, significant wind noise from the drivers door was a clue that the window wasn't sealing properly at the top. This is where some water was coming in. The answer is to use the (BMW) window re-set procedure, but this takes a few tries to get it right. Dean on this forum is the expert... There is another post where he summarises the process

It seems to me that the water is in the door (considering that even the front speakers are not working as expected) and then the water is falling on the "door sill" (cannot explain it better, I will make a picture next WE) but I am not sure if it's collected through there or only routed somehow in there.

My S1 get wet on the leather sill but I suspect it's coming in from everywhere

I did however seal up the doors with a membrane but also covered the back of the door cards themselves as these are nearly always water damaged.

Ale: I can really recommend Borghy in Milan. They know Morgans well and Luigi is a really nice guy. I am sure you will find them helpful.

I will be there on the morning of the 6th May to have the new spring kit fitted.

How the door card is fixed to the door frame? I'd love to do it by myself.

Already spent a couple of hours with him, he is really nice.
But if I just leave the car, I'll miss all the pleasure of understand, learn and fix. To have a perfect car with no issue, I'd have kept my 911 but life cannot be that "planned/boring/easy"

With the two roof panels you have to make sure the little 'flap' sits properly at the rear section of what is the 'T' when you ut the panels in.

I can't remember if it sits out automatically but this was the only awkward bit of fitting the targa panels on my SS. However when fitted properly my panels never leaked. I did however used to get some residual water on the sills in especially heavy rain.
