Yes it does, but if you stop on the first cut out you'll not fill the tank, go to the first click then fill it slowly as it needs to fill both tanks.

Don't worry I've overfilled mine many a time, namely due to people wanting to ask questions.

Enjoy

Mine tends to shut off with about 5 or more litres to go then its a case of fill with care.

Hello friend
My car is like all the others before and yet! Fill in slow, at first step, need a little bit time and you'll see, the filler stops! The M3W was never overcrowded! 6.000 km, one year, more than 25 refuellings.
Enjoy the car every day

I tend to put the nozzle in all the way and fill as normal until it cuts off, then pull the nozzle up so I can see the end and fill slowly to full but not over full if you see what I mean.
Also if I fill it up at zero% it takes about 20-21 ltrs. which leads me to believe there must be a 5 ltr. reserve, in my car anyway.

It should. Never use the full on setting but keep it slow. I don't trust the pump mechanism at all so I fill up slowly and keep my ear close to the filler so I can hear it filling. Changes pitch when close to the top. Also makes me look busy so that conversations are curtailed and I may actually get out of there in five minutes vs. fifteen due to questions, photos, etc.

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

Don't rely on the fuel gauge ! I zero the trip meter each time I fill up, after 200 miles it takes around 30Ltrs . I have put in 40ltrs after around 250 miles , so mine reads 0% when it's about half empty. In the handbook (p2) it gives the tank capacity as 55ltrs.

I checked fuel capacity with MMC to try and make sense of the theoretical range they confirmed it as 42 litres.

Thanks for that John, wonder why they put 55Ltrs in the handbook ?! I must have been close to running out when I put 40Ltrs in.

Possibly 42 liters is the "official" amount that it takes and 55 liters includes the "reserve" remaining once at 0% on the gas gauge?
