I too am curious as to see how you have attached the mud guard, as this will be one of my first projects.

Its works a treat - as the test drive yesterday demonstrated. happy3

U just need a slight mod round the drive belt area and to allow
for suspension travel.

This will stop the seat belt issue - forces road debris/water etc downwards, not into the transmission area and stops debris being thrown up into the covered boot area. innocent

so bingo! An easy mod - which could be simply reversed to original if necessary. cheers

This is good. The problem with road mung and dirt has vexed me and this is a relatively easy fix. Between this and removing the seat back and tightening up the joins and using silicon here and there will greatly relieve the general muck. I have noticed that the dirt I receive from the road is negligible but the crap that comes through the cracks from the rear is the telling story. I can wipe it down every day but it comes back!

It does not encourage guests!

Thank you a million times!

I have spent hours looking for this thread, trying to find this photo, and I totally forgot that it was in this section and not the 3 Wheeler section.

I have a similar hugger type trailer mudguard fitted plus some additional shielding behind the seat belts. It makes a world of difference though you still need to take out the boot liner fairly regularly to clean off the road crud below it. At least now I don't get the feeling that the car is eating itself from the back wheel forwards!

Hi - just having a look under the load tray and working out how to fit a plastic mudguard - there is quite a lot of suspension travel - won't fixing one end to the swinging arm in place of the alloy guard and the other end to the body result in a broken mudguard ?

"won't fixing one end to the swinging arm in place of the alloy guard and the other end to the body result in a broken mudguard"

Not so far is probably the best answer!
In reality the movement at the attachment point to the swing arm isn't that large but what lifespan these mudguards will have remains to be seen.

I was wondering about this too before I fitted mine, I've now done around 1500miles since fitting it ,a lot of the time on bumpy roads. No problems so far :-)
