This weekend I cleaned and greased the front suspension. Since getting the car in December, I have only covered about 300 miles in it (total now approx 16,600). When I got the car it was pretty clean and rust free undeneath, but the front suspension was rather grimey. After cleaning, I followed the greasing method on the GoMog site and lifted the damper plates (using a jack and a metal rod), to enable the grease to exit under the plates, thus lubing the steering at that point. It appears that the damper plates had never been lifted, they were pretty dry underneath. After I completed the job, I went out for a drive. The difference in the steering was markedly noticeable, with a much less heavy feel. For those who do there own maintenance, if you haven't lifted the damper plates before, it's really simple and after greasing, you get immediate results.

Hi Richard, I lived in Perth in 1975. Just off of Scarborough Beach Rd. not far from Huntman's Lake. Is it still there? Didn't have a car in Perth, but we rode around on a Kawasaki trail bike. The weather allowed all year round riding. I lusted after a Holden Special!

Indeed it is Ian. Scarborough Beach road is now quite developed. I've only been here 3 years and can feel the changes a lot. May have changed a lot since '75. I quite like the Holden muscle too

Scarborough Beach Rd. - blimey. Visited a distant relative of a UK mate of mine along that road in the mid 80's... Probably long gone now. My mate is now in W.A. - Tweed Valley Lodge (haven't got the rest of the address to hand). Took a number of classic motors across when they emigrated a few years back - no Morgans though.

Graham, Tweed Valley Lodge is in a small quaint Country town in the South West called Bridgetown. If your mates name is Warren and his partner Barbara, then they still manage(own) it. I have not been to the lodge, but have relies in Bridgetown. They have a great blues festival there every year.
