Hi everyone. Any suggestions, tips, sagely advice for longer term (6 months+) for my Roadster (2013). My plans for a permanent return to the UK have been scuppered by a new job. I currently store it at our UK home in a garage with a dehumidifier and battery conditioner. All covered up etc. I reckon I will be back at 6 month intervals for the next 3 years. Cheers.

Sitting for 6 months won't do it any good so I suppose I could use it every day for you innocent, It would be a real chore of course but I'm generous like that laugh2
Seriously though, I know a lot of guys only insure their Mog's for 6 months of the year so I guess the answer is to use it as much as you can when you're back in Blighty.

I've owned many cars that have sat for months in a dehumidified garage without ill effects... However, I'd say a couple of things.

Roll the tyres onto carpet, sitting unmoved on cold concrete can create flat spots on the tyres. Not a massive problem, as they'll 'drive out' when you use it. But ideally someone could roll the car backwards or forwards by a foot every few weeks.

New cars don't mind being undriven too much - engines over 10,000 miles need running every 10 days or so.

Can you put some mouse poison along the walls of the garage?

Don't leave the handbrake on and ensure the front discs are bone dry before storeage.

But as suggested earlier I would happy to put some miles on it for you!

Funny you should mention it, but I have just made room in my garage at home. I have a space vacant for around six months that would fit a roadster perfectly.

Happy to roll the wheels around every now and then, and in Western Australia we have naturally low humidity. innocent

....and some very caring Morgan owners who would lovingly care for the car smile

Thanks for the offers to take care of it. My son made a similar offer but the trip wire, alarm and web cam in the garage should put paid to that!

Thanks for the tips. I have it sat on 4 large rubber horse box liners as I thought it would help spare the tyres. I didn't think of mice, which we have in abundance there!
