Hi All, Recent full lock turn in a car park produced a rubbing noise that sounded like the (tyres) rubbing on something!
As a new owner I thought this can't be right, have a look into it. Got it up on a ramp and what I find are two angled protrusions on the chassis that the inside edge of the tyres rub on when full lock is applied. This definitely doesn't sound right can anyone advise.
My car is a 1997 4/4 the tyres are new Continental Contact GT22 165/80-15 on wire wheels.

There used to be roller stops bolted to the chassis for the wheels to rub against. On my 2008 +4 the wheels rub against the brake reaction stays at full lock.

It is right. Mogs are the only cars in the UK where this isn't an MOT failure.

If you are worried you can buy roller stops from people like Hearts of England.

Thats normal, you eventually learn not to use full lock and put a dab of vaseline on the rubbing plate in case you forget.
You can buy rollers to fit in place of the rubbing plates, probably reduce your turning circle a bit i would think.

You might have to explain to unknowing MOT man that Morgans were historically built like that, i was told it makes them exempt from failure, presumably true?

I've got the rollers but not yet fitted. Mine came from Melvyn Rutter.
