Agree - v bad BS is not acceptable - BUT I have found (see previous posts) that with factory involvement it is possible to reduce BS right down so that it is almost imperceptible. I think that the factory is working on solutions to this issue. I am convinced that fitting the new upgraded wishbones made a big difference too - I am not an engineer but it makes engineering sense to me that if the front end is stiffer there will be less movement to the steering geometry - maybe those with "the knowledge" can confirm or put me right! Must go off on the MTWC HFS Memorial run to Hereford - will post pics later.

Plus 4, I can not say more. Do you understand now why I am whinging, but still want to spend good money on another car? I fully understand why you're unhappy that this problem has not been rectified, but I'm still curious to know why you would sell a car with only 1000 miles on the clock and buy another knowing that you will have to "seek a cure for the problem, which, if it can be made to work, will make the experience even better". Why not seek the cure with you present car or wait until MMC achieves a solution?

Ahh, right, slightly different answer then.
The concept of the car is great, after 18 months certain things have been improved or modified, and those that haven't, like the bump steer, I have a better understanding of, and will have fun working on a solution or waiting until someone comes up with one.
My new one is a different colour, Beige instead of Black, a colour I hope will be easier to maintain, and will benefit from various improvements, plus there is ahh, how shall I put it, a financial advantage that I can't discuss.
Also, isn't it nice that when I waved my old car away with its' new owner, I felt sad for only a moment, as I am now waiting with anticipation for the new one. Don't we all like that feeling?

Thanks Paul, but I'm now curious about the financial advantage that could make the change worthwhile

I can't say yet, but may be able to tell the story at some time in the future. Let's say that luck had a lot to do with it though.

Hmm...I suspected my comments would trigger more discussion about Bump Steer...and rightly so in my opinion.
I found the bump steer to be quite scary and I was never able to predict when it would occur as some obvious bumps didn't seem to affect the car, then something unseen would cause a violent kick to the steering. Certainly made me grip the steering wheel tightly with both hands, but I seemed to experience the effect less and less as the drive progressed and my confidence increased.
Is the bump steer effect less obvious when the car is being driven enthusiastically than when pottering around?

I completely agree with PaulJ. I am taking mine to a suspension guy in a couple of weeks to find out what is the issue and will report back. Kevin

SUPLEX will soon be selling a front suspension upgrade for the M3W that has the same excellent characteristics as the first SUPLEX suspended cars before the factory went to SPAX for production. So back to the original rising rate spring chracteristic, dampers tuned for the car and internal rebound springs - result:- good ride, no bump steer and increased roll stiffness - same as the M3Ws used on the first road tests! Regards PJB.
