Couldn't help myself - had to go and count. 1985 4/4 4str. 24 top, 12 side, all outies. 72 louvres all really quite evenly spaced. That particular Friday afternoon's work for the fly press apprentice wasn't too well lubricated at lunchtime, it seems.

That looks like our Redmorgan there taking an action photo!  How sad......I've just got home from my trip and straight into the garage to count my louvres!  29 on each top, 12 outward facing louvres on one side, 12 on the other together with 8 outward FORWARD facing louvres on the other....90 in all. Amazing...if anyone had asked me the number I'd have guessed a lot less than that!

This is worse than eating a fruit pastille without chewing. I will not check my slats, I will not check my slats, I will not check my slats etc.....
I will hold out as long as I can. Surprised at the high numbers.

Oh dear! I've resisted for 2 days but in the end  it just got too much for me. 2012 Plus 4: 29 outies each side on top and 8 innies each side on the sides. Total 74. Looks as though they may have standardised from about 2009 on. Jay. do you have vents on the SS scoop?

As said earlier, in the 70s, top louvres were an option, and I believe Woodstock (a 1972 car) was made for stock in 1972 (no waiting list then) as it was a base model car with no options.
Study of a photo gives 8 per side and no top ones.

I blamed the extra drag from my louvres rather than torque when you chased me
