Is anybody in the magic circle? I need a magician.

Parcel in the post this morning from Mr Rutter with my new £3.50 replacement clutch return spring. So this afternoon I eagerly dived down into the foot well and stripped the pedal assembly out. As I was removing it I spotted it - OMG!

Today’s conundrum. Take a look at the second photo. Does anybody know how the spring is supposed to be replaced? Has anybody changed one? Even if it could conceivably be unwound to enlarge the i/d it would surely over stress the tangs. Its very stiff.

Broken spring

New spring to be assembled???

It's a bit like putting a key on a key ring, you need to splay the first coil enough to force the short leg of the pedal between then keep rotating the spring until you have wound it onto the shaft, hopefully facing in the right direction so it pulls the pedal up!

Blimey! Knowing Morgan I suspect that you will need a complete new clutch pedal!

If you blow this up a tad it shows the spring's positioning fairly clearly. Assemble it with the stub underneath and then clip the longer part of the spring round the pedals afterwards looks like the way forward.

Yes...i dashed out to photograph my pedal thinking that would be the answer! A tough of wizardry is really the answer unless Easter has the correct one...which probably needs very strong fingers!

I think Easter's cracked it. Uncle Melvyn will advise too I'm sure if asked.

Probably ok his ex "servant" was recognised for his many activities rather than simply acting. He was on a certain parties national executive etc. in many ways a better actor Atkinson, always surprised Hugh Lawrie not better recognised

I thought the same but then as already noted he has been involved in politics, restortations, historical studies...
