Heinz: you should seriously consider the Suplex kit for the front suspension. If you want to make a visit to Lake Como you are very welcome to try my car. The front end rides over the bumps very nicely and the car has less body roll. It feels very secure and well planted on the road. The steering is very light, in fact almost too light if that is possible. I need to check camber in case I now have a little negative camber.

Fitting heavier front springs may seem like a solution but creates stiffer steering, a much harsher ride, and would be subject to sudden falling rate suspension if encountering bumps mid corner. Could even be dangerous in extreme circumstances and totally unsettle the car at a crucial moment. Morgan fitted different springs to my car under warranty too but in my case the dealer fitted a much lighter rebound spring. The result was an acceptable ride but lots of body roll. The Suplex system with proper adjustment has fixed all this.

For the moment MMC tried everything to get the suspension work to justify the Minilites. This ended up with stiffer springs, a second rubber washer to reduce total spring travel and consecutive overall pre load taking the rebound spring into account. Icing the cake they recommended 8 clicks on the GAZ. The result is undrivable but this way the Minilites will not touch the suspension. For this "solution" they even had the car ordered back to Malvern...

My dealer is not inactive and next Friday we will see to reach a drivable compromise until I get new wheels.

I like the Suplex idea, but first I will manage to get wheels (on my own bill) which will match the required dimensions for the car and most important which give the necessary space due to bigger inner rim diameter to let the suspension travel without abrade. After achievingthat Suplex could be a solution. As PJB wrote some years back in Morgamania a stiffer spring with a very stiff rebound but without pre compression could also be a solution perhaps. (That was written before he developed the Suplex system).

I would like to PM because in August we are (again) in nice Italy for vacation.

It all boils down to MMC trying to save money on parts by not ordering the proper magnesium Minilites but heavy alloy look alikes.

just a thought, what about Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 wheels. not as traditional but very light and used for racing. I had a set fitted to my Ariel Atom. Nice wheels, lots of sizes, not expensive either with a range of colours. would suit a super sport, perhaps not a classic tho

Would magnesium Minilites differ in material thickness or geometry? Otherwise even a lighter Mg Minilite is not an ideal replacement.

The Teamdynamics rims do not look too bad, very functional and clear design without flourishes. I like them, could "work" on a P4SS, but a bit close to the bone concerning what a Morgan stands for, otherwise good value for money. Similar looking wheels are on my Elise (wheels from 2009 Exige Cup 260 series). Would be ok if I would use her mainly on track days.

Regarding the looks I fall in love with Turrino painted Alloy spokes but next week will see how much money they want, I guess very expensive...could find nothing in the web regarding prices, found only an old price competition "win a set of Turrinos" value 5000GBP. That hurts.

Is the wheel problem just as a result of track days or are all the cars suffering the same problem on normal road use .? Are the factory treating it as a warranty problem?

Dayton wire wheels is another alternative. I think they could deliver custom wheels at a much lower price than Turrino. Morgan Park Hamburg imports these wheels to Germany. I had Dayton wires on my previous Morgan and was impressed by the quality.

I never had her on track days. The abrasion appeared in curves and most of it in round abouts.

MMC treats it thankfully as a warranty case. They try to find a clever solution, not an expensive one which is understandable imaging they have to factor by 60 cars - IF it is a series issue.
The damaged wheel was replaced. But I don´t need a solution which makes the cars safe, but lesser enjoyable to drive - if the goal is to "rescue" the standard wheels.

Have P4SS owners who drive quite a bit checked their front wheel inner rims? Anyone with similar experiences? If not it should be even more easy to find the bug on my car.

It must be very inconvenient for MMC, also the fact someone chose this wheels at all for the whole edition.
It is also inconvenient for me (and probably other P4SS owners).

But the whole situation feels a bit different in comparison to deal with a big company. E.g. with a Mercedes issue I would order my attorney and would forget about it. To drive a Morgan and to share this appreciated community is like living in a village, not in the anonymous "Mercedes-City".
So I hope I´m reporting in a fair way. I am no pessimist and do not try to bring any destruction into the community. In our world of growing conformity we need companies like MMC.

I would swap the wheels anyway (weight) and of course I can not address the weight issue, only safety relevant to do´s.
Of course I would be glad if MMC could share some of the costs
for different wheels and take the Minilites back but I guess that is unrealistic.

Forgot to say, the most important is, that the sun is shining, yesterday I cleaned and let dry the airfilter, finetuned TB balance a bit and will NOW GO for a happy round with her
