Hello!
Unfortunately the rain started when we went back home today. As we seldom go with the hood up it took some time to get it in place. When we started driving we noticed a sound from under the dash and the sound was like massive rain on the windscreen. The sound started when the speed reached 70 km/h and over. When we reached 100 km/h the sound somewhat lowered. We are going to our second service next week and as the car still is under warranty I hope they will solve this annoying sound when the hood is up or is i the normal "they all do that sir"-

Doesn't sound right. Maybe air is getting under the screen or between it & the hood

They certainly don't "all do that sir"! The hood itself can be quite noisy...my old Everflex one use to emit a loud crack at around 60mph as it expanded! My mohair one is a lot quieter although there is some drumming from it...but not from under the dash. Hopefully your dealer will be able to sort it out for you

Was the hood moving against the internal frame?

Today I heard a terrible noise coming from under the dash. Turned out theat the screw on ring that forms the lower part of the gear lever knob had come loose. Couple of quick twists with the hand and the noise stopped. smile

Today we visited our dealer for the service. We put the hood on and he noticed the sound. He recognized the sound from the lower part of the dash. When the serviceman looked at it it appeared to be some loose leads and the gear stick not secured. He also said he fixed the mist coming into the meters in the dash at cold weather.
We then took off home in showers of heavy rain and it turned out to be a much nicer experience than before. We drove some 100 miles and we came back home safe and dry.

I'd love to know how your dealer solved the misting up of the instruments.

I just mentioned the problem and they said they will fix it. As I remember I think I heard something about drilling a hole from down under the instruments. I can make a phone call tomorrow and get the details if you want.
