Are you going to the BBQ at the w/end . Just about to rumage in the garage and out buildings to see if I can find some seats dump them in the boot . Russ said there is a shortage of them . No point in trying to eat a burger with a pretty woman on your knee she might try to steal it .
Funny I thought everyone who purchases a mog has spotted one parked up somewhere ( yours and mine ) looked over it listened to the well oiled throat of a mog owner selling the virtues of owning one , even given a ride and that's just the tip of the iceberg . Or have I been dreaming .

I mean financially of course. Not goodwill and the like. No offence intended.
I would imagine the majority of MMC's annual revenue comes from new car sales and spares/service for newer models, but I stand to be corrected.
Having been away from TM for a few days, I have just been reading the last few pages of this thread.
I re-checked the bonnet/wing gap on my 4/4, which is consistent and even on both sides. It is also just big enough to take my finger tips, without pinching them when closing the bonnet. However I was at Berrybrook today, admiring a very nice new green +4, (which seemed to have a well fitted bonnet, with even gaps). What, however I failed to notice, was that the gap was somewhat less than on my 4/4 - result = squashed finger tips
As for the North/South divide, as I live within a 10 minute walk of the beach down here in Devon, virtually all my friends could therefore be classed (by me) as "from the north"

You're right of course Allen. The high resale value/low depreciation of Morgans is an important part of what helps to persuade us buyers of new Mogs to part with our hard earned cash. Although the MMC's financial return from the sale of spares & so on may not seem that significant, the value which the brand gains from the low depreciation (thanks to secondhand buyers) is one of the things that helps to keeps the ship afloat. As JTL says too, the enthusiasm communicated by MMC's unofficial brand ambassadors (the owners) is integral to the public's enthusiasm for Malvern's finest.
I bought a new Bentley and had many calls from Bentley to ask how I was getting on with the car and was there anything, even the smallest thing, they could attend to. The same with the Vanquish.
Nothing from Morgan on my £60k Roadster. Not even a letter saying 'thanks'.

In part that is how I came to finally buy a Mog, after about 40 years of lusting after one.

I quite agree.
I'll get the last of my 'newbie syndrome' off my chest and then get back to driving my fabulous new Morgan.
My earlier post of the bonnet photos on here was partly driven by a couple of other aspects of my buying experience that I did not share. Now having become an accessory to WW3 between the North and South I feel I should reveal some more of the context:
The very day of the TM visit to the factory in April I got an e-mail from my dealer saying the factory had phoned him to say the car was finished and would I like to pay the balance. That was a shock - no-one had told me I had to pay for the car in full before it would leave the factory. Anyway, I left it a week or so since I was not going to pay in full for something I hadn't seen. In the meantime I searched the TM visit photos that had appeared on here, genuinely excited that I might glimpse my completed car.
And there it is at the back of the attached photo taken during the TM factory tour, no wings, no seats, no hood, no dash, no underseal - far from finished... I wrote an e-mail to the dealer including the photo of the incomplete car, they replied (more than a week after telling it me was 'ready for collection' and asking for the money) saying it should be complete in two days time. No apology or explanation.
Having had the chance to have a good look around the car once I had got it home I noticed the bonnet fit and a few other minor issues. The same day the build book that cost £167 arrived with a photo of someone else's car in it. I sent a very polite e-mail to the dealer along the lines of 'how pleased I am with the car, just a few minor issues I'd like your thoughts on', no mention of a warranty claim, just a request for their comments. That was 12 days ago, not a peep from the dealer.
None of this is the end of the world, actually I find it rather comical, and it is definitely not a reason for insulting one another.
By comparison my wife took delivery of a new Audi A1 the day after I picked the Morgan up (the 'price' of my new toy). Her car is faultless, we got a discount plus a generous PX price, the money was taken on the day of delivery and the tank was full of petrol. They apologised that the floor mats we asked for were not available and hand delivered them to our house a couple of days later, a week after that she had a call asking if everything was OK.

"Insulting one another"? Really??
As to the rest of your post I sympathise. I think the dealer must have been trying to get his cashflow sorted early (do they have to pay up front? Not your issue if so) and should have apologised at the very least.
As a matter of interest, Neil, was it the dealer or Bentley themselves who contacted you as it was the dealer in my case. Although irrespective MMC could do whose than a simple thank you hope you enjoy your car letter.
Payment in full for a new Morgan before release from the factory was in the small print on the order form when I bought a new Mog built to my order. (ie not dealer stock) As I was buying direct fom MMC it didn't make any practical difference, they already had my old car as deposit and I paid the balance with a building society cheque upon collection
I must be one of the lucky ones and a bit sad too as I went out to the garage and measured the whole thing, bonnet gaps ,wing widths, light positions and couldn't fault it except for a rear reflector which was a tiny bit out of level. Kevin Vernon once remarked that even the hood fitted properly, but then I don't use that!
