"Insulting one another"? Really??

As to the rest of your post I sympathise. I think the dealer must have been trying to get his cashflow sorted early (do they have to pay up front? Not your issue if so) and should have apologised at the very least.

As a matter of interest, Neil, was it the dealer or Bentley themselves who contacted you as it was the dealer in my case. Although irrespective MMC could do whose than a simple thank you hope you enjoy your car letter.

It was Bentley themselves.

Quote " That was 12 days ago, not a peep from the dealer."

That's very poor service. I would at least expect an acknowledgement. Are the dealers becoming so complacent with selling so many cars that they don't care about their past customers. If Peter Morgan could read this, he would be a very unhappy man, but he was of course of the old school where customers were important and bean counters were kept under control. It's a pity his son is not of the same ilk.

I have just phoned to see how my mog is getting on and got the feeling they dont wish to part with it in a hurry . The young lad said his dad was in the spray booth and that the mog looks stunning in young lads terms that I dont understand and is pulling people in like fly's , they just stand and oggle at it . One lady standing drooling over it ran off to bring her husband in . This its ready next week is a not so now I can see why . Morgan dont pay me for that its free and so it is from every mog owner .You can not put a price on that

PS . Going to see it tomorrow starting to miss it and I need a ride.

Given that every new car purchaser is supposed to receive one year's subscription to Mog Magazine a nice thank-you letter from the factory together with the first issue of the magazine to the new owner would be fantastic PR and not difficult to organise.

While on that subject I was one of the fortunate winners of a year's subscription as well as the buyer of a new car at about the same time. Only ever received one subscription though. Probably not unreasonable but I always did wonder.

I know what you mean JTL.

I had the car parked outside the mountain cottage yesterday (outside because I was cutting the grass). Only about 6 cars went past all day. Two stopped to take photos of their wives posing next to the car. smile I didn't say anything, as long as they don't get in or sit on it I don't mind.

I had to chase up my subscription to Mog Magazine. 3 months after I took delivery, still no Mog Magazine as I had been promised by my dealer. I contacted Mog direct and they said they would sort it out. Eventually they did, but I had to wait another 5 or 6 weeks and call them 3 times to remind them to do what they had promised to do.

Customers aren't important these days. I sometimes feel as if I am bloody nuisance getting in the way. Everything has to be chased.

And no letter from Morgan with my first issue of the magazine.

The world is run by emotionless, bottom line bean counters these days.

Still love my car though - when it works !

A couple of years ago we stayed at a very upmarket hotel in the Lakes (it was our wedding anniversary), arrived in the 4/4 and parked outside. The Porsche owners' club was there with about 20 of Zuffenhausen's finest. They all stopped Yar-yaring in the bar and came out to look at the Morgan. One was disappointed it wasn't a V8 but the rest wanted to look at everything, including the rear axle under the tool tray. They particularly liked the s/s wires and the walnut dash with cream gauges. Nobody commented on the reduced number of louvres, and I suspect most of them would have liked a drive too.

I went to pick up swmbo jnr. yesterday evening. She knew that I was there and where I was because she heard people commenting about the "fantastic car" and realised I had come in the Morgan.

Garage boss gave me a call just the bonnet to put on after engine bits sprayed . Then its a full inspection on the ramp with spotlights to see if everything is 100% and I am happy . He said something about a bit of rewire ( if I want it ) I think he means the lights have all been off the body so new fittings on them all . Then its the bit I hate it has to be payed for.
Gave me some great tips on how to keep it stunning and what to use , once I get sorted out I will pass them on .
