Folks,

Are there any other options than Halfords Bulb kits for carrying as spares to comply with the law on the continent? I looked at the Halfords web site and it gave me a code for a kit (TKH7C8)which the site says is for a Morgan Plus. It didn't give any more info. The very polite and helpful dude in Halfords couldn't find it or an equivalent nor even verify that it was correct. Any thoughts guys?

Go to a breakers and buy a few odd bulbs for a couple of quid - nobody's going to check you've got any spares, yet alone whether they fit. If a bulb does actually go they stock spares at practically every filling station.

Indeed they can. However for those of you planning a trip to la belle France who are unaware of it, the requirement to carry two disposable breathalysers has been shelved indefinitely.

Giles. Mogless in Paris.

...but you still need a hi-viz jacket, warning triangle and fire extinguisher.

Carrying spare bulbs is not compulsory in France....it's just that you would need to have them available when a bulb blows. Sod's law of course....you get pulled over by a gendarme because a light has gone...and you haven't a spare bulb!

I bought mine from http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/
Good selection and a good service.
Enter the make and model and then select spare bulb kit.
You can also buy the hi-vis vest, triangles, and beam correctors from them.
A first aid kit is always a good idea but not compulsory nor is a fire extinguisher compulsory for France.
