stones damage the paintwork  Perhaps we should not drive our Morgans to preserve the wonderful paint

Oh Hamwich, what have you started? "If it doesn't make the car go faster, handle better, or stop quicker, it has no place on the car and should be discarded." Does that include SWMBO?

 Perhaps I'll leave my luggage at home for next week's trip - that should make for shorter road times...

If it doesn't make the car go faster, handle better, or stop quicker, it has no place on the car and should be discarded. I'm not exactly going to be worried about all three of these things when I'm done with the car!

Well i think these cars are all about looks, if you want a car that goes and handles i am sure we would buy Caterhams or Atoms. Now they are fast

Well i think these cars are all about looks, if you want a car that goes and handles i am sure we would buy Caterhams or Atoms. Now they are fast Yup, which is why I'm trying to determine the best way to be mounting the strap. I think it looks cool, but the car looks cool regardless of whether it's on or off. I know the sheepskin stuff is supposed to be good, just looking for other options that may work better (but still look good, or aren't visible). I know I could always just do a big strip of Clear Bra across where it goes as a back-up plan. And I'm set for fast, my daily driver's a supercharged Corvette.

I love the straps but would hate the damaged paint even more so i would have to pass on that one

Oh dear, don't say people have been taking me seriously? :-) Actually, my SWMBO makes the car handle better - evens out the weight distribution :-)

I've found that the strap doesn't really ruin your paint. Keep the bonnet waxed and use one of those belts with the felt on the back--you don't need that shearling sheep skin thing.
I've had one on the same car for 39 years and over 83,000 miles, and the worst it does is kind of dull up the paint directly underneath, and that can be rubbed out if you need to.

Agree Allen, Mine is only a 2011 but I do keep the car clean, waxed and the strap (I do have the wool backing) in good order. No markes in the paint and hope it stays that way. I love the the look, very much suites the car.  Flaagan,
