Regarding dimensions,
MMC has no wheels in 7x15 in the standard program. The only official 7 is the stainless steel spoke, but in 7x16 which means more space between rim and the suspension parts.
Any experiences with 7x15 on your Mogs at all? or should I better take 6,5x15 for new wheels with slightly more offset?

To move the wheels outwards you need less offset or more negative offset. Small changes in offset could influence the steering characteristics as the scrub radius is changed. Harald

Merlin, if you mean steel bolt-on wheels, then to fit wires which are usually centre-lock (knock-on) you would need new hubs. You could fit minilites or replicas directly.
Post a picture of your car and wheels?

Harald Harald thanks for explaining my offset - inset confusion. If I just would like to alter the offset to reach the same width with a 6,5 wheel as it was before with a 7 wheel, is that a big issue and out of tolerance regarding the scrub radius? If I am right we are talking about o,25 inch. Has it to, or could it at all be compensated by adjusting the suspension? If I consider e.g. a Roadster (same axle width) offered a) with 6,5x15 alloys and b) with 7x16 stainless spokes, in case b) they make the wings wider to keep the 7x16 under the wings. Does this also affects the scrub radius? (sorry for laymans questions).

As long as the tyre centerline does not move, the scrub radius stays the same. On my previous Morgan I changed from the original wires to Dayton wires of the same width, but with 5mm more offset. This gave the car a little narrower track. Of course the tyres also were changed so it is hard to tell what made the car feel different, but it became less nervous at the cost of a little less aggressive turn in. I don't know if the proposed change of offset on a Morgan is OK, but I guess people in the racing community should know. For more details, see the Honda tuning magazine article on offset. Harald

Finally it turned out that the alloy wheels from Image, which are excellent wheels and the service and knowledge of Harry is great, need a centre adapter for my Rudge hubs. At the end the wheels would have a 10Kg weight including the adapter. This is the value what I already have with the recent Minilites and therefore I don't need to spend money for a change. Perhaps I can find sometime other Minilites, 6,5J instead of 7J to free the space to the suspension, keeping the offset, perhaps made from magnesium and combine them with the current adapters. I thought about a change to 5stud hubs, but that is too much an effort and the Rudge hubs itself benefit from lower weight.
I currently enjoy the car as is. Sometimes the urgency of projects is relativated after a first push...
