It has been almost over 18 months and today I received an email with the build date sometime in August. Just in time for the Souther California chilly winter.

this is my first post I'm in Charlotte NC. we just got a morgan 3 dealer. they dont even have a morgan on hand yet but i have been thinking about going ahead and putting a deposit down. is 18 months the normal time now between deposit and getting a build slot . so are we lookingf at basically a 2 year wait for delivery. any info on time would be great the sales guy at the dealer really doesn't have any info they are new at this morgan thing .

That sounds about right. You may get lucky when somebody has to delay their build slot due to finances as I did. Even with that mine was still 17 months!

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

My wait was around 12 months from deposit to delivery to the dealership. But, the dealership had 10 build slots of which I was the 3rd (I believe that they have now sold 8/10). If your local dealership can't get you a build slot for 18 months, you can always try placing your order through an established dealer with available build slots. There is one in Palm Beach as well as one in Manhattan. I placed my deposit sight unseen and I have no regrets.

The wait has not been bad. The hardest part is keeping the finances in place without life getting in the way. Also I constantly question such a purchase considering an unexpected engine rebuild on my e type. However, the wife still says do it, and I hedge that it will retain its value and, you only live once.
