Hopefully will be done today. And yes, Not having a ton of luck but on the flip side, having the time of my life driving it as well as doing a little wrenching and having a much needed and previously missing from my life hobby.

Good luck Blake....
You've motivated me to find a good S&S shop in Houston in advance of delivery....I suspect I'll need it...
Thanks for posting and keeping us all updated, the info on the new Harley rectifier is helpful.

Bummer. I think I ran into the same thing. I had to be towed back to my home and after buying a battery charger and cycling it to see what was up, I came to the conclusion that the rectifier was the evil doer. Battery is fine.
I don't mind buying HD parts. I have their gloves. So what?
We shall see...

An addendum: I replaced the rectifier with the H-D version part number so generously supplied by Blake and all was well. There was a bit of fiddling to get it to work but all went well.
Now, when I start, there is a voltage of 12.8 to 13.0 on the battery at rest. When I am running it hits 14.5 to 14.6 volts. That means it is charging.
Add this to the list, as in:
When it breaks, and it will, replace with...

I couldn't see from your pictures Blake, whether it was an original 2 point mounting unit or the replacement 3 point unit that broke?
I love the colour of your leather btw.

A second addendum: Remembering what it was like in the Harley shop several things became clear. The H-D people are not fiercely loyal to H-D. H-D has had its ups and downs and S&S came about to fill the void for quality parts and later engines. The H-D people looked at my M3W with clear lust and were very enthusiastic about the S&S fitted to it. This last go around, they were very open about their disdain for the Cycle Electric rectifier/regulator fitted to it. They did not call it 'delicate' but P.O.S. came up quite frequently. They break a lot. The C.E. unit is supposed to adjust itself to the load. The H-D unit is going full on all the time and is designed for it.
So far so good. It is working. That is all I care about.
