The warm weather yesterday inspired me to fit the walnut dash I bought off e-bay, in my 1998 plus 4. Well impressed, looks great and everything works - Except(!) the water temp gauge which goes fully across to the right when the ignition comes on. Swapped the wires around on the back and it reverts to the left but does not work. Anybody got an idea of what I have done wrong, or who can tell me what wires go where
Pete

Hi Pete,
I have a similar problem once on my aero, the temp gauge swing right across to the left, but once the engine fully warmed up, it then works normally again, the factory then found the problem was caused by bad earth.
May be you should re-check all your wiring are connected up properly...

Kin, thanks for your help. Found out that Earth wires are black and then found a black wire that appeared to be unconnected. Fitted it to a spare terminal on the gauge and hey presto it works. Dashboard is now all back in and looks great Just the sort of tip that makes joining forums like this worthwile. Now for a blast in the sunshine with the hood down
