Okay, I'm one of the new guys on the forum, and before everyone flames me for the thread title, I really just want to get some basic impressions on the M3W. This is obviously not a "practical" car in the common sense of the word; I get that, and don't care a whole lot, I really love this car. However, I really am interested to know what the owners think about your cars.

Morgan was hoping to grab a slightly new market with this car, although I think it appeals to young and old alike. But what if you use it as a semi-daily driver? How is it at highway speeds? Do owners use it more as a weekend cruiser around town, just for road trips, or is anyone really using it as your primary car during nice weather? Is this something you would consider driving 3-5 times a week in the right season? Can I cram my 6 foot 4 inch body into this car with the ocassional passenger and not wonder what I was thinking when I bought this vehicle?

I do have a couple of others cars, but I can only lust after the cavernous garages that a few have to house their large collections, so above all, I have to ensure this is something that I will use regularly. I completely love what I see thus far but I'm not one to flip cars regularly so I expect to have this until it, or I, fall apart.

I commuted to work in mine every day last week and so far this week too. Not a long commute, but it does include the motorway.
It's parked in the "motorbike only" bay outside and nobody has complained yet (plenty of space for other bikes)

Guys, guys... it is only 7 am over here. I needed a moment to wake up.

I drive the 3 wheeler every chance that I get, including to work and we have even taken it grocery shopping. You can get 5+ bags of groceries and a passenger packed in there and as long as you are not spending hours on the motorway/highway every day, it is very enjoyable (in lighter traffic - heavy traffic can be scary at times). I am only 6 foot, so I am not sure I can comment on your height working, but I believe there are a few others on Talk Morgan (welcome Craig, BTW) that are over 6 foot and I believe that I have read that Morgan is adding, or has added, another notch in the plate for moving the peddle box further away. I feel lucky to not have had some of the issues that others seem to have experienced, so all in all I am more than happy with my decision to buy my Morgan 3 Wheeler.

Drive mine on any good weather day. Light shopping, mail and bank runs are all doable. Holding off on food shopping this week due to the current heat wave in the Northeast.

I would say that, weather permitting, the M3W is perfectly practical as an everyday car, just like a bike would be, wearing the right clothing on the right days etc. The car will cruise motorway/highways comfortably at around an indicated 80mph, returns 30mpg [uk gallon] and has a 9 uk gallon tank.

Reliability is quite suspect, but we all know about that and have to accept it, so don't use it when you HAVE to arrive at your destination on time.

It will always put a grin on your face and a smile on everyone who sees it - quite remarkable!

As far as your height is concerned, it will be a squash, you will be driving with your left leg bent and I would suggest that the front of the seat squab is built up with wood, to facilitate this, very easy to do. The only way is to try one, do you have a dealer close by? Whilst the factory have made the pedal box move a little further away, I have discovered it is not as useful as it might be, but does help, every little does.

Hey Craig, I'm new here too, and also a sorta Texan. (Austin parttime, soon to be fulltime). If I buy one of these I'm planning on using it as much as I can- to get to the University, to go tooling in Hill Country and just engaging in overall mayhem!
I've owned quite a few 'impractical' cars that i drove close to daily, at least in good weather. Where in Tx are you?

Thanks for all the feedback. Good to hear that there are some that use their M3W frequently. My commute to work isn't too bad. I live in the Dallas/ Fort Worth metroplex and have about a 20 minute drive if traffic is good. Although every road in Texas currently seems to be under construction, so my biggest fear would be being run over by some guy in a Dodge truck while he texted to his girlfriend while I am stopped in traffic.

I definitely need to see if I can crawl into one. Paul, to answer your question, there are plenty of short Texans. Actually most of my family heritage is from the UK, so you guys can say I got my height from you.

I know the pedals can be adjusted somewhat by the dealer. My wife is 5'5", so are any of you able to swap out with your spouses easily? Or do I need to get her some platform shoes for the Mog?

My closest option would be to see if anyone in the local Morgan club has one. My nearest dealer is in Phoenix, Arizona. That would be just over 1000 miles and 14 hours away. Definitely not something I would undertake as the inaugural shakedown cruise. Although, if Charles Morgan can lend me his parts caravan and pit crew from the Gumball Rally, I would consider it.

Bill, yes, we need to build up the M3W population in Texas. I go down to Austin frequently. The Phoenix dealer said that he has already spoken to several people in Texas, so it is getting some interest.

There's always the "His 'n' Hers" M3W option??
