Even without the "looking the part" first impression is that they are good and quite possibly an improvement on the Avons. Time, miles and weather will no doubt tell. Of course they do actually look the part too!
I think they are rated for 113mph not 130. Most Blockley's are rated for 130 but a couple of the narrower sizes have the lower rating. Must be careful not to go over 113mph.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on these Blockleys - pretty much all the pre-war cars at Prescott in June had Blockleys on, although the pair of original 3-Wheelers both had sticky motorcycle rear tyres on the front wheels. One of those cars was faster through the speed trap than the Bugatti Veyrons, so clearly they work on the hill...

All positive on the Blockleys so far; more grip, slightly heavier steering but less increase in steering weight as you wind the lock on. They don't seem to howl quite as much on hard cornering and braking as the Avons - is that a pro or a con?
Only been able to try them on hot dry clean roads so far but it can only be a matter of time before that changes. There was a comment about there being more road noise with them but I don't know how you would tell in amongst the rest of the racket.
I can believe that modern bike tyres would stick like the proverbial and with much less deformation, might not last very long on the road though.

In case of accusations of thread hi-jack I think I may have sussed out the wishbone movement/clacking cause. I should have some shims arriving this week to allow me to pack out the bushes to fit the gaps between the pick up point brackets. This should also allow all the brackets to be parallel rather than pinched in as some of them are. The gaps between the pairs of brackets are somewhat variable. Unfortunately I'll be disappearing for two weeks on Friday so am unlikely to get everything straightened and shimmed up till I get back

This was a great event and a privilege to watch the old 3 Wheelers fly up the hill. The red one in the pics was something like 1923 and made of what looks like paper, wood and a little steel. Needless to say, they were very fast (methanol burning I believe), very entertaining and driven with incredible confidence and commitment from where I was stood! A couple more pics;

I'd like to try Prescott in my new M3W, but not until the wishbones are all tightened up and the Bevel Box given the inevitable fix!

Intrigued by the tires that the vintage hill climbers are running. Does anyone have any more info or opinions regarding running more traditional street bike tires on the trike?

An update:
Tightened the front wishbone bolt about a third of a turn and the clacking noise seems to be gone on that side. Will tighten the other side today and try it.

Have now replaced two of the rubber vibration dampers that hold the regulator as they were totally shorn off. Check them, people, as the damn thing will fall off without them.
Should it be secured by a wire as well, I wonder?

2600 km now. Still smiling.
