wasn't there a plus 8 in orange when we were on the factory tour?

Yes but doubtful that it was Sport Orange - a plain non-metallic. Quite a few buyers have gone for Sunburst Orange which is uber-bold and 'metallic' or the equivalent Lambo or Porsche or RS orange.

The first of the new +8s was in orange - I was at the works as it came out of the finishing shed - have also seen another couple in what I think is known a ASBO orange (the hot hatch colour beloved of joyriders).
There should be pics of this on the MMC website somewhere. It is non-metallic and the one that went to the Geneva show.

Any photos? There's an early orange +8 at Haynes motor museum, I have a pic on my camera from a visit 4 weeks ago and il try and post tomorrow..

Richard - am I so transparent?  Having failed to secure an orange Lotus, it would be a logical move to fix my searing disappointment, and sport orange is a no cost paint option. But I don't know yet if it's justifiable, or sanctionable by  However I (with MrsW) will be looking at a 2.0 4/4 in a week or so, and who knows what might happen after that.
