Bet you'll have fun though, as most class 4 MOT places do not have a tray for the rear wheel, so will be unable to do it.
My guess is you'll need a MOT place that has a class 3 and class 4 testers certificate even if the MOT needed is class 4.
Members of the Three Wheeler club can see a list of good garages that do class 3 MOTs and I know the one I recommended can do both classes 3 and 4, so could do a new one. TA Lingard of Berkhampstead.

Seems pretty clear, though for the first MOT at least I may well go via the dealer and let him do the explaining to the test station. Interesting that the section on headlamps contains the lines; "Vehicles equipped with High Intensity Discharge (HID) or LED dipped beam headlamps may be fitted with headlamp washers and a suspension or headlamp self levelling system. Where such systems are fitted, they must work" To me that sounds like it is permitted (at least for MOT purposes) to convert the lights to HID or LED without fitting all the washing and levelling paraphernalia that manufacturers have to fit.

Sorry, but where exactly are the cats? I wasn't aware there were cats on these. And why would there be when they are classed as motorcycles and therefore free of smog testing?

I am fairly sure this means that if you have HID headlights you have to have wipers / self levelling. I went through all this with my Lotus Europa S (the VX 220 turbo in Lotus clothes, not the 60's/70's one) that I fitted a set of HID headlights to as the originals were so dim. The MOT man didn't like them as there was no headlight wash but I managed to bluff it as there were not too many Europas about to compare it with. Getting the Grinnall Scorpion (another 3 wheeler) I had MOT checked was always fun. Once you found somewhere that agreeded to test it they insisted on checking the brakes in the rollers and, being fairly light, it usually jumped out and headed for the nearest wall. I imagine the Morgan will be a similar story, once I find some where that will test it.

I removed the rear most baffles from both exhaust pipes. It is a bag of a job! The hardest part is getting the baffle out, if they are left in it makes a god awful noise. I would take some more out but the further up the pipe you go the harder it is to get them out.

Between the Flexi-joint and the slip-on connector for the full pipe/silencer assembly. The CAT section is very slightly fatter tyhan the rest - about 12-14" long I'd guess.

It's all a bit grey, but the MoT rules are not as tight as the Type Approval requirements. You 'can' get away with decent quality aftermarket HID conversions, provided that the units do not produce too much dangerous glare, in the view of the MoT Tester. I have had them on my Renaultsport Spider for years without issue.
They' look very wrong in my opinion on an M3W though.....

Ahh yes,I see that now on the awesome M3W parts diagram PDF file I was sent, ( I am not currently near my Morgan). Well here in the US, motorcycles are not smog tested, so I see no reason not to punch out the guts of those guys. It would have positive effect on power and sound. Anyone see a reason not to?

Oh, I don't see it being that much of a gain of hp to worry about, but I do think it would make for a happier breathing engine. I'll take this on as soon as I remove some of the many irons I have in the fire.
Question, do any US states require smog tests on "motorcycles"? New Mexico certainly does not.
