It appears, at first glance, that the pedal assembly can be put in two positions only if the front and back bolts holding it in place are all employed. Mine is currently using the bolt holes towards the engine.

I would love to move it further down the well as it is impossible for me to sit in it without having my legs bent tight up to the steering wheel as well as being able to leave off any pressure against the clutch pedal.

As a side note, I am only 5'10'' and reasonably 'normal'. It just would be really nice to 'relax' just a little bit...

Is it possible to move the entire assembly back using only the bolts closest to the driver or must it be fastened down with all four due to flexing?

Hi Michael, I too had that problem, I'm 5'9 and found it a bit of a squeeze on log runs so I moved the pedal box as far forward as pos. I had to drill 2 more holes in the floor, right at the very front of the foot well, so all 4 mounting bolts could be used. It is much easier if you remove the inspection panel under the bonnet above the pedal box then drill from the top then move the box forward and pull it down square with all 4 bolts. It is a very tight fit and only just goes in. Well worth the effort though.

Regrettably, I have found that moving the assembly is a no go on Left Hand drive cars. On Right Hand drive cars, the bracket on the clutch side is angled away from the transmission housing and the gas pedal side is square so that all of the bolt holes can be used and the bracket is free to use all possible positions.

Morgan used the same bracket assembly for Left Hand drive cars and the geometry just does not work. The gas pedal side is very square and will hit the transmission housing if you attempt to move it down the wheel well.

If you live in a Left Hand drive world as I do, I would honestly recommend that you test drive this especially if you are very tall!

I am not that tall but I am a bit vexed at this turn of events.

Here is a photo of a pedal box in a LHD M3W that was being built last week. As you can see, the length of the hydraulic hoses will not allow the pedal box to be moved any further forwards.

My dealer tells me that the the pedal box is installed at the furthest forward position as standard during the build.

We are both tall @ 1.95/1.8m (6'5"/6' in old money) with long legs (both take 36" inside leg)....we added a 50mm spacer between the steering wheel and the quick release and this transformed the driving position for us (equivalent to a dished wheel) and allows 2+ hours behind the wheel without problem......our 22 year old 2.1m (7') son still cannot get in to drive but this at least stops any discussion on the cost/benefit of getting him on the insurance!

That sounds like a good idea JMD.

Being 6' tall, I will give it a go if I find my knees are up around the steering wheel like they were on the 3 Wheel Drive car.

Alternatively, has anyone fitted a dished steering wheel to overcome this problem?

Having open access like this would have been a treat! The itty bitty panel allows not much room to work. I was able to remove the bolts with various gadgets and grabbers as well as putting it all back together again. Looks like the base material has changed as well from the pix. Mine is raw aluminum with some seriously welded joins.

Must remember to take photos whenever I work on this thing. Sometimes it's so quiet I can hear my brain cells die...

I took my M3W into Melvyn Rutter and they moved the pedals forward for me and they work a treat, much more comfortable, my left leg is now straight when I engage the clutch fully. I am only 6ft with a 31" inside leg so how someone taller manages I just do not know.
Melvyn also fitted chrome rear lights, number plate light, tool kit straps and a their wonderful chrome air filter. The whole vehicle looks so much more authentic now and is even better to drive.
