Hello folks, Well, first off, I don't own a Morgan... Nor have I had the luxury of even driving/riding in one. I hope to remedy all of the above in years to come; hopefully sooner than later. I'm a 24 year young chap from Central California. My love of European cars has never been deterred despite being surrounded by lovely hot rods (e.g. my uncle owns a local hot rod shop - Double Z Hot Rods). I currently drive a '96 Jag XJS roadster (with an AJ16 straight-six engine), and have also owned a '73 Mercedes 450 SL and a '76 XJS with a 350/350 Chevy conversion. All of the above have been daily drivers. I'd call myself a Jaguar buff, but I have always been passionately excited by Morgan cars. I first learned of them from reading about vintage trikes being raced at Buttonwillow Raceway here in California. Alas, I still haven't actually gone to see any of those beauts on the track! I have a suspicion some of that crowd may actually frequent this forum... If so, I'd love to know of any locals! Just about everything about Morgans, from their nostalgic designs to the fact that they're entirely hand-built, as well as their lovely balance of performance and economy, is attractive to me. I'd have to say my favorite current model is the 3.7 Roadster. Seems like the right amount of grunt coupled with practical pacing - I'd die for an opportunity to drive one! Have lots of lovely student loans to pay off before I can go down that road, though... I look forward very much to spending more time on the forum and learning more about Morgans from other enthusiasts and owners alike. Cheers from California! -Gregory L.

Welcome to TM. All Morgan related (and even non-Morgan) questions answered. There is a gradual influx of new Morgan 3 Wheelers (M3W) into the USA, some in LA, with some of the owners on this forum, so you may get to see a M3W before long. and over the pond.

Thanks for the warm welcomes! I spent some time reading various posts on the site before I decided to register, and was attracted by the nonchalant friendliness of the Talk Morgan community.
I recently noticed that there is a Morgan dealership in San Francisco (Isis Imports Ltd) and I may very well take an opportunity to peruse their current stock the next time I visit the city. It will probably be a very exciting experience!
How many folks drive their Morgans daily? I know they're rather pricey, or vintage, and worth taking extreme care of... But I'm a fan of owning one nice car at a time and really enjoying the hell out of them. Are Morgans very reasonable as daily drivers? How advanced are the electronics/computer assistance programs on the newest Morgans? I'm also enthusiastic about being able to work on my own cars, and don't like the complexity of most new vehicles. Despite having watched an excellent episode or two documenting the build process of a new Morgan 4/4, it's hard to tell how many CPUs are on board these cars nowadays!
Also, I've been reading hints about quality issues with the new Three Wheelers... Can anyone point me to conversations concerning that issue? Sounds interesting to me.
Thanks again!
- Gregory

I recently noticed that there is a Morgan dealership in San Francisco (Isis Imports Ltd) I understand that the Isis Imports have been Morgan agents for some years. Would be an interesting visit. How many folks drive their Morgans daily? I know they're rather pricey, or vintage, and worth taking extreme care of... . Many of us use our Morgans as a daily drive. (When it is not raining to hard ) There are now three species of Morgans. Traditional - a style unchanged since 1936. But everything under the hood everything is of the period e.g. my 1989 car has the Ford engine current in 1989, the modern Roadster has a modern Ford Mustang 2.7 lt engine. etc. The brakes etc on mine have been upgraded to match the modern car. Most Trads you will find in the USA were imported in the 1960 & 70. So are treated like you would an MGB or TR 4/5/6. But can be upgraded. Aeros have a state of the art ali chassis and BMW running parts. There are very few in the USA. M3W have S&S engines - as you will see form the MMC web site. [/quote] Also, I've been reading hints about quality issues with the new Three Wheelers... Can anyone point me to conversations concerning that issue? Sounds interesting to me. - Gregory Over 700 M3W have been built in the past 18 months. Over this period of time the inevitable teething problems have been discovered and are being tackled by MMC, dealers and owners. Read http://www.drivenatheart.co.uk/ where a M3W tackles a 5,000 mile journey to the top of Europe, and Charles Morgan has driven a M3W accross the USA in the Gunball 3000 - see http://www.morgan-motor.co.uk/mmc/newspages/gumballdiary.html
