We have now learned sherlock , that some responsable guys in the factory read this forum day and night also during holidays, so perhaps, we can push them to discuss seriously with us about our pros and cons .... we all love this car and we want it to became better and better grouphug

Hi factory, we have some questions and ideas ...

MMC does provide a full workshop manual for the dealers. I've seen it and its pretty detailed. But I very much doubt that it will be made available to owners which is understandable from the factory's point of view.

I cannot understand why the factory will not sell this manual through their dealer network, I bought the dealer workshop manual for the Lotus Elise through a franchised dealer without a problem. Ditto Porsche 911, 996.

Gents,

I've been communicating with a representative of the factory about this through the evening. I've been asked to point out that this isn't a manual just parts list, which I think we are all aware of.

What I didn't realise and I've been and checked, and yes I did download it, is that the manual is wrong and out of date. Seems the way were getting the link was via the external sources who did the work.

So that's the bad news. Now for some more positive news

I did put to the MMC representative that it wouldn't be a bad idea to make this information available especially for people like Q8 who are miles from a dealer. The idea will be put before management and maybe and I stress maybe the updated version might be made available officially. Again it's not a manual just a parts plan.

No promises but I'll chase it up in a few weeks time.

Waldemar. Clearly they are looking and I believe listening, but I not believe they will get actively involved in the forum. My guess is that some of the ideas suggested here and elsewhere we might find in future vehicles. But we'll have ot wait and see if I'm right.

You are right asbo - well u usually are!

But its just helpful to see how things fit together - so that you can follow the drawings when/if taking things apart.

And its just....well interesting!! cheers
