Oh Learned ones! I appear to have a lot of movement on the first gear assembly. Should part of the movement be erradicated by the installation of a spacer sleeve between the bearing and inner sleeve of the gear assembly? Thanks in anticipation, Tony
"A lot of movement" can't be right? If anything should go there I would expect it to be an oilite thrust washer. Sometimes gearbox thrust washers come in a selection of thicknesses to suit variations in casing size - but I don't have any experience of the Moss box. Is the laygear OK for end float?

As Dave says...it's not right. My only experience of gearbox rebuilds are airhead BMW Boxer ones although unlike most motorbikes...apart from Guzzis..they are much like car gearboxes and they needed careful shimming to keep float within tolerances.
